…what do you all think of this shoe?
My wedding will be a late morning-afternoon outdoors event, and I didn’t want my heels to be sinking into the ground. Since the wedding colors are yellow and green, I thought adding a colorful touch wouldn’t be such a bad idea.
What do you think? Crazy or just crazy nice?

I’m going with "crazy nice." I love spunky shoes!

That’s is a cool touch. It will be nice to see a picture of your dress to get the big picture.

I’m not sure. I think you would have to try them on with the dress to see how they look. When doing something crazy, you have to do it big enough that it’s obvious you intended for it to be that way. These are clearly not "bridal" shoes, but they also aren’t too wild, like Chuck Taylors or something. It might just look like you forgot your "real" shoes and had these on hand. If you can’t try them on together in person, maybe you could photoshop the shoes onto an image of your dress to get a better idea?

I love the yellow, not crazy about the espadrille portion. If you could get them with a thick 40’s style heel they’d be cuter and more pin-up. Or maybe if you went REALLY over the top with the beachy look and got some in yellow with white polka dots, then the straw would look more intentional. Like the pp said, otherwise it could look like you just had to wear them because you forgot your real shoes.

i totally love these shoes 🙂 and think it would look great for an outdoor wedding especially if you have a more simple wedding dress. they look really comfortable too – i have a pair that are similar and i wear them all over new york – when it’s not snowing 😉 just try them on with your dress and see how you feel. and i think i might get these in the same colour as well 🙂

agreed with tanya – love the yellow, love the fabric, not crazy about the espadrille bit. but i understand needing a wedge. just try them on with your dress and make sure the espadrille portion doesn’t look too casual. otherwise, love ’em!

I saw a cute picture of a bride who wore espadrilles at her wedding on Sara K. Chen’s photography site: http://sarahkchen.com/index2.php (under "i do"). I like it and have been considering the same for my garden wedding!

Love ’em. Kudos for thinking outside the (shoe) box.

I think it totally depends on what the dress looks like- otherwise the color is up to you.

I think they are super cute. Are people really going to see the espadrille portion anyway?

as long as you are happy and comfortable in them, then that’s all that matters! 🙂

I am also loving the yellow (sunny, happy!!) but not sure about the heel. But heck, I’m more of a cork wedge kind of girl anyway. If you love espadrilles, go for it! It’s your day – whatever makes you feel fun and gorgeous!
