We have a friend of a friend (I vaguely know him) offer to step in and MC our wedding for us (the biggest source of stress right now). We’ve agreed on paying him fair market rate. Problem is that we’re down to three days before the wedding and it’s too late to add a vendor meal to our agreement, we’re having a plated dinner so there’s no chance to grab some extra, and we’re not allowed to bring outside food into the reception. He’s going to be there 1.30p-6.00p. I feel awful about not being able to feed him, any suggestions on how to remedy this?

Are you sure the caterer can’t add a meal? They usually will have extra on hand for this purpose.

Surely your caterer will understand if you need to add a meal or two. They normally have a little extra for guests who may have rsvp’s no or not at all and show anyway.

renwoman: Have you tried phoning your caterer? There normally is some leeway for the last minute needs.

renwoman: The caterer will be able to add an extra vendor meal. Most times, vendor meals aren’t what is being served to guests and the caterer almost always has extras anyway 🙂

renwoman: your caterer can add a meal. its not right. at our wedding our DJ ended up having 3 extra people and they were fed with no questions asked and free of charge

Turns out it was just a misunderstanding. They thought I wanted to add a whole other guest meal, which we can’t do because we’re already at our max number of guests for our package. When I told her that they are a vendor and not a guest they were more than happy to let me add the vendor meal. Problem solved!
