@futuremrscap:  I think that your dress bodice needs to be altered to fit your torso better– it definitely doesn’t look like it fits you as well as it could right now.

I love that you are adding straps! Straps are nice. 🙂

It looks like you are going to need the skirt shortened a bit.

Unless there is a second layer of tulle and lace in the skirt under the top one with the lace edging, I don’t think hitching part of the overskirt up, like in the other picture you posted, will work– you might end up with the satin of the underskirt showing. . . it depends if you like the idea of how that’ll look. Can you post another picture of yourself with the skirt pinned up that way?

@futuremrscap: With the bow in the back, I don’t think a sash would look right. You’d have the sash bow and the dress’s bow right on top of each other. What does the back of your dress look like? Can it be converted to a corset back? That will bring the waist in more and emphasize your curves. The dress is beautiful, but it’s already got plenty going on. picking up the skirt, adding the sash, it all just seems like too much. It’ll take away from the beauty of the original dress.

@futuremrscap:  i too  agree if it is possible to add a corset back. but if that is the case ditch moving the bow to the back. if you dont like it in the front ditch it all together. if you are dead set on a sash id say inch and a half in width at natural waist. hope you get your dress all figured out. best of luck. 🙂 keep us updated on what you decide

Personally I would make the neck line a slight v-neck, then add straps that taper away, a little brooch on the side of the hip where the lace on the skirt can be gathered up as you mentioned.

@futuremrscap:  Don’t add a sash. Can you just get some great undergarments to suck you in? I feel like a sash will take away from your dress and not in a nice way.

@futuremrscap:  I love that sash! It is beautiful. I think it will look best at your natural waist. 🙂

Glad to hear it has lots of layers of tulle under the top layer, I think pinning up the top layer of the skirt will look great! It will indeed help to showcase the pretty lace edging.

The corset back idea with a big sash you posted later is super pretty!!!

    Have fun!
