When first thinking about where we'd honeymoon, I immediately wanted somewhere in Europe...preferrably Greece. FI wanted to go on a cruise. Now, I've never been on a cruise and FI has been on more than I can count (growing up it was a vacation favorite for his family). I told him it made no sense for us to go on a Caribbean cruise, as we live in the Florida Keys and can take one of those any time we like without having to worry about airfare. So, we compromised and came up with a Mediterranean Cruise! I'm wicked excited, but not really sure where to start looking to book this adventure. My parents have kindly gifted us airfare anywhere in the world as our wedding gift. So the question now becomes, which port to fly into and which line to take? We definitely want an itinerary that includes Santorini and Italy...beyond that is just a bonus! Also, it looks like we'll be taking this cruise shortly after the wedding, as the fall seems the best recommended time to do so (wedding is November 13, 2010).
All that said, I'm looking for any recommendations (from experience) of which cruise lines to consider and which itineraries make the trip the most well rounded. Ideally we'll book a 10-night trip. Any and all suggestions are welcome and appreciated!
