Hi Bees just wanted to introduce Bruno. He is a 1.5 yr old Dogue De Bordeaux aka French Mastiff aka Turner and Hooch dog-if you’ve seeen the movie with Tom Hanks!
He was an owner surrender to our local shelter where DH and I volunteer and rescue dogs. If you remember a while back I posted about Bently our English Bulldog that was only a couple of hours from being put down before we rescued him……you can read about him here
Well Bently our foster bulldog went to his forever home a couple of weeks ago. It was bitter sweet seeing him go but we know that we must make room to save more! So we wasted no time making room for another furry baby……so we rescued Mr Bruno!!
He was turned in to the shelter……b/c…..wait for it……wait for it…….wait for it………the dumbest reason ever…….” he slobbers” Well hello did you not do your reasearch on the breed? Most people don’t realize that tons of pure breeds wind up in the shelter due to people buying cute little puppies and not doing their homework on the breed so when they grow up they often get dumped and the shelter. I have seen and heard so many excuses over the past 7 years of this. So we come in and work on finding them a right match when we rescue. We interview them and go out and do home visits and make sure they know about the breed first ao hopefully it doesn’t happen again. Also with our rescue for any reason if they can’t keep the dog all they have to do is call us and we take them back into the rescue so these babies never ever have to go to doggie hell aka the shelter again!
So please meet Mr Bruno…..isn’t he handsome?
On his ride home from doggie hell aka the shelter!
Hanging out with me in the office watching me work!
Now he’s checked into doggie resort aka our house but not really…..more like the dogs house and we just live here….LOL…..where he gets lots of love and attention!

@peonyinlove: I know I am a sucker for squishy faces….we have 2 bulldgos of our own (both we rescued) and we always have a foster that comes and goes! Most have squishy faces although we have rescued all types from poodles to pitbulls! But the squishy faced ones melt me every time!
@MrsBananas: I know he is a funny guy himself and thinks he’s a lap dog…LOL
@NavyBride16: I know he’s the cutest and we will def work on the perfect home for him!

Awwww what a cutie! I can’t believe that somebody would adopt a dog without doing their research. Shame on them. I’m so glad that he’s on the way to finding a forever home 🙂

@weddingbound: Woo! I’m on my way!
I wish we had the means to foster dogs right now. Even if we had the extra cash for more dog food and vet bills though, Idk how my dogs would react. The 14 year old is very particular about dogs he likes, and the youngest is so powerful and playful that most dogs get annoyed by him. Haha.
