Bride – Fishy
Fishy has loved movies and fairy tales from when she was very young watching Mary Poppins hundreds if not thousands of times and The Sound of Music (at least the first part before intermission where all the good songs are.)
Growing up, Fishy loved spending time with her family and going to the beach. Her favorite place in the entire world is Disney World (I am totally in my element there.)
Fishy was actively involved in the girl scouts and achieved her gold award. Fishy decided to go to RIT for engineering and ended up falling in love along the way 🙂
Groom – Mr. Fishy
Mr. Fishy loved books and outer space his entire life and taught himself to read before kindergarten. He adored the Back to the Future movies, Disney’s Tron, while Star Trek and Star Wars were definitely in his vocabulary (ask him about his favorite Halloween costumes.) Growing up, David loved spending time with his friends and going camping.
Mr. Fishy was actively involved in the Boy Scouts and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Mr. Fishy decided to go to RIT for engineering a year before Fishy and ending up moving to her floor during her first quarter.
Woohoo! We are engaged 😀 So, you might be wondering… how did all that happen?
Well Mr. Fishy and I meet in 2004 while we were both in school at RIT. Mr. Fishy , was the sweetest guy, and asked me out a few weeks later to the Winter Gala hosted by the College of Science (yes we are both a bit geeky.)
I realized that he was something special when we were talking about books that we as good or better than the movie and we both thought 101 Dalmatians was an amazing book. I told him I loved the Princess Bride and he read the book just to see what it was all about… followed by watching the movie (which is now one of his favorites.)
We each had internships throughout college that caused us to spend a lot of time apart. When David graduated he got a job near DC, and i got one in Ohio the following year. It was a long drive to see one another 🙁
We both love to watch TV together, and when Colbert /Stewart put on a rally on October 30, 2010 I had to go. David said he would join me. We went to the AWESOME rally and then to dinner afterward at Oya in Chinatown DC. At dinner he proposed with a beautiful heart shaped ring at which point I can honestly say I was completely speechless for the first time in my life…
