Hey guys. I just made our first appointment with our first photographer. He is a graduate of the university I attend, and I think a pretty recent one too so I dont think he is as established as others in the area but his prices are the cheapest Ive seen and from his online portfolio his pictures are pretty good. We are meeting in a local coffee shop instead of an office to have the consulation though. Is this normal? Is it a sign that he is to inexpierenced? Im sure he will bring his pictures to show us and that will be a good way to judge his work but I just have no expierence in this. What do you guys think?

We have met people at the coffee shop before. Don’t read too much into it. If you like the quality of his photos, then it does not matter where you meet.

agreed – it’s very common these days with so many on location only photographers. I’ve had studio space before and I’ve spent half of my years without as well – the real key is not only their work, but their professionalism and especially communication. I know plenty of my “top photographers in the world” type of colleagues who meet wherever is convenient – and it’s not neccessarily in a studio or office. Professionalism and great work at all times! Good luck!
