That's too funny....
I hate to say it, but you need to head downtown to the Fashion District (garment district). There are a lot of shops owned by Southeast Asian, Asian, and Middle Eastern proprieters so there is a huge variety of ethnic fabrics. I was wandering around down there looking for different fabrics myself. I don't know how much you were looking to spend to dress each table, but it's an option for you to check out.

I need to brainstorm with people that have vision. Everytime I bring up ideas with my family, I get a blank stare and hear crickets. I want to do something different for my tables, but I just can't see myself paying through the nose for expensive linens. I was thinking of doing chocolate brown poly tablecloths with a muslin overlay that has a Mehndi stencil.
My grandmother used her veto on burlap overlays and then threatened to taser me.
