I once complained here about one 40 degree day. I think Mother Nature is laughing at me. To make it worse the air conditioning in FH’s car isn’t working and the service people we took his car to using a groupon (never, ever again) air-conned us. Still not working, and we had to go over to Brunswick to get him a suit today :
Prompting this thought… all the way home…
Seriously, since the start of Feb the average has been 32… 8 above average… and thats not even taking into account the mid Jan heatwave or all the other 30+ days. I’m never going to complain about a slow start to summer ever. again.

I’m in Sydney, and we’ve been fortunate enough to escape most of the really bad heat this year. You really have my sympathy. I’ve been watching just how incredibly hot it’s been in Adelaide and Melbourne. I don’t know how anyone would sleep without air conditioning.
Take comfort in the fact that it will begin to cool down soon.

I’m in Adelaide.. It’s 43 today, two fires burning not so far from the city.. This sucks! a timely reminder not to pick late summer for a wedding date unless you can guarantee a well air conditioned venue!

@goingtotherooftopoflove: well and truly over it. 44.7 last weekend was our hottest February day on record! it’s 43 again today. At least it is cooling down at night though lately unlike a few weeks ago. Helps the house not feel like a total hotbox. Never again will I complain about being cold!

@diddles112230: yeah, my parents (from NZ) effectively vetoed Jan, Feb and early March for that very reason. FH and I were discussing how uncomfortable it would be to be getting married today when we were out and not much longer we saw a wedding car drive past with guys on shirt sleeves drinking beer hanging out of it 😛
I’ve lived in Melbourne four years now (& Sydney for one before that) and this is EASILY the hottest it’s been, even though I thought it would never heat up after all the cool weather in December.

Yes , I’m sick of it. We’ve moved our bed into the lounge room as it has air con. Its the only way we’ve been able to sleep!

I keep hearing about how hot it is there – hope you all stay cool! Here we are at the other end of the thermometer… it’s -24 right now at 1:30 am and going to stay that way through the day, and over a foot of snow on the ground. Maybe I can send you some of this cold weather 🙂

I’m so sick of the extreme cold right now I think I’d trade you. Our current temp is -24C. The dryness and everything cracking and bleeding sucks. My poor coworker kept bleeding at the finger tips today because her hands are so dry. Don’t you wish we could mix our weather together a bit to cool you guys down and warm us up?

I’m in Tassie and I am just about melting. I seriously wish I had air-con

Lets trade! I’m so cold. I shouldn’t complain, it’s 20 here. At least we aren’t in the negatives like some bees!

@goingtotherooftopoflove: im in regional australia (link 1500kms from the coast) and we’ve had heat waves here too.. 47 is our top this year.. Bring on winter!!
Yep, I’m so sick of this heat wave. It 43.c again today and my house does not have air con. Im packing boxes in this heat too so I can move in with SO.

@Eckle: that sounds like a BRILLIANT idea 🙂

We just got evaporative put in after the last heat wave. We just couldn’t take it anymore. We have a tin roof and weatherboard house so the inside temperature was basically the same as the outside temperature and often the inside was hotter once the change came through.
Best money we have ever spent.
But I would still prefer the heat to the cold anyday. -20 blows my mind.

@Eckle: I don’t know what’s worse, the extreme heat or cold 🙁 I just hate how in this heat (I’m I’m adelaide, SA) you can’t exercise outside. I want to start soccer training but I also know it’s going to be brutal even after 5pm.
