Weird question but do any of you use a memory foam mattress topper? What do you like about the one you have? Do you think you can tell the difference between the 1.5in, 2in, or +2in thickness?
I’m looking for some feedback since we need to purchase queen size mattress topper and they aren’t cheap. : /
**A little background, this is my last ditch effort to get FI sleeping back in the bedroom with me! He’s been sleeping in the guest room because I think he has some restless leg symptoms and it wakes me up multiple times in the night. I read some previous posts about trying a memory foam mattress. We can’t afford one right now so I’m looking at mattress toppers instead.**
Any advice is appreciated! 🙂

I can definitely tell the difference, my FIL has a 2″ topper in his guest room, and we have a memory foam mattress in our guest room, when I’m having trouble sleeping, I’ll go in there to keep from waking up DH. I can tell the difference between the 2– if the mattress isn’t in the budget, I recommend the thickest topper that is. Hopefully it’ll help him!

I have a 2inch one that I got from Kohls for pretty cheap. I had a terrible mattress and until I can afford a new one, this was my solution. I sleep a lot better on it and my husband really enjoys it as well. You can still feel each other moving around on the bed but it’s not as bad. For me it was worth the money.

Yes! We got one from Target (surprisingly cheap – I think it was on sale for $45 dollars for a queen size one), and it was the BEST DECISION EVER. I believe ours is two inches, and it has made SUCH a difference. Bed is an even more wonderful, welcoming place for us now 🙂
The only downside is that it needs to be aired out for a couple of days before use. My husband was so eager to put it on right away that we had to deal with the werid chemically smell for a few days, but we didn’t die lol. I’d still recommend airing it before use though!

I used to have a memory foam mattress (not just a topper) and found it to be comfy but really really hot. It seemed to hold in all my body heat. I think they make ones that stay cool and regulate to your body temp.

I have one on my bed. I have a pretty crappy mattress, and the mattress topper helps me sleep much better. I got mine at kohl’s for a pretty good deal, but I’m not sure what the thickness is. I would definitely recommend it!

@juliette.eliza: @Pupperoni: @sarahbabs: That’s great to hear! I saw some great options at BB&B and Target, but I’ll have to look at Kohl’s today to compare. Hopefully we’ll be sleeping better by the end of the week! Thanks for the warning about the chemical smell by the way…that (literally) stinks. 🙂

@FauxBoho: Yeah, I’ve heard about the mattresses being warm. Since the topper is much thinner, I’m hoping it will breathe a little better. We’ll see!
