Is this like remembering loved ones past, or remembering your wedding day?

I used this one for my FI’s mom

If Roses grow in Heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Mother’s arms
And tell her they’re from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
And when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek
And hold her for awhile.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
But there’s an ache within my heart
Because I am missing her today.

@babymilka74: I love this poem! I lost mom 2 weeks after I got engaged and I’ve been trying to figure some things to do to remember her.

I love this one.

We thought of you with love today but this is nothing new.  We thought of you yesterday and days before that too.  We think of you in silence.  We often speak your names.  Those that we love don’t go away. They’re with us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always there.  Although it seems unfair your memory is our keepsake with which we will never part.  God has you in his keeping but your forever in our hearts.

1.

What is Death?
Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
that we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without affect,
without the trace of a shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolutely unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?

I am waiting for you,
for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just around the corner.

All is well.
~ Henry Scott Holland

2.Your Loved One lives In Your Heart
Many tender memories soften your grief,
May fond recollection bring you relief,
And may you find comfort and peace in the thought
Of the joy that knowing your loved one brought…
For time and space can never divide
Or keep your loved one from your side
When memory paints in colors true
The happy hours that belonged

3.Farewell My Friend
It was beautiful as long as it lasted
The journey of my life.
I have no regrets whatsoever
save the pain I’ll leave behind.
Those dear hearts who love and care…
And the strings pulling at the heart and soul…
The strong arms that held me up
When my own strength let me down.
At every turning of my life I came across good friends,
Friends who stood by me,
Even when the time raced me by.
Farewell, farewell my friends
I smile and bid you goodbye.
No, shed no tears for I need them not
All I need is your smile.
If you feel sad do think of me
for that’s what I’ll like when you live in the hearts
of those you love, remember then
you never die.
~ Rabindranath Tagore

Although we can’t see you
we know you are here
Smiling down, watching over us
As we say “I Do”
Forever in our hearts,
Forever in our lives,
And so we say our vows
In loving memory of you.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,I am not there, I do not sleep.I am in a thousand winds that blow,I am the softly falling snow.I am the gentle showers of rain,I am the fields of ripening grain.I am in the morning hush,I am in the graceful rushOf beautiful birds in circling flight,I am the starshine of the night.I am in the flowers that bloom,I am in a quiet room.I am in the birds that sing,I am in each lovely thing.Do not stand at my grave and cry,I am not there. I do not die.

Here’s the one my daughter is using:

Though your smile is gone forever,

and your hands we cannot touch,

Still we have so many memories,

Of the ones we loved so much

Your memory is our keepsake,

With which we’ll never part,

God has you in his keeping, We have you in our hearts

although we cannot see you

We know that you are here

Smiling down, watching over us

As we say “I DO”

forever in our hearts

Forever in our lives

and so we say our vows

In loving memory of you
