Hey everyone! My FI and I are having a two year engagement and I decided that he should get a pretty ring for his engagement just like I should. He has a strong bias towards tungsten carbide rings, so we decided to get him one with a red inlay to match my ruby and diamond engagement ring. Unfortunately, since tungsten carbide cannot be resized and his two ring fingers are a different size, I’m going to be getting him a right hand ring for his engagement. Which is fine, I guess, since the ring is a band and would look like his wedding band otherwise. I just ordered yesterday and he’s anxiously waiting its arrival. So what are you opinions on men’s engagement rings?
Silly? or Sweet?

I think that engagement rings for men are a neat idea. My FI didn’t get one but he used to joke around about how it’s not fair for me to get such a pretty ring when he doesn’t get anything. At the moment he is bound and determined to get his wedding band early and wear that… Not sure if I want him doing that but I guess it really wouldn’t make a difference.

I love the idea! My FI said he wouldn’t wear one, which is fine by me, but I think it’s a really sweet sentiment when a guy wants to show the world that he’s “taken” as well.

My boyfriend ordered a tungsten carbide ring as a promise ring that he wears on his right hand. He loves it, it’s a great metal!
I love the idea of the engagement ring for him! Hope he finds one he loves 🙂

My FI has one and he wears it everyday. He even has the tan line from it. I love it!

Mine wears one as well. Everyday. It was his idea actually. He loves it. Maybe it just depends on the guy?

So when he gets a wedding band, does he just stack it with the e ring?

I would personally say no. He could wear it on the other hand if he wants to. I don’t think he really likes the one he has so it might just disappear.

My FI insisted on having one becuase he felt it was unfair I get one and he doesn’t. So We bought a cheap $20 tungsten one from ebay and he will wear it until we get married. Then he will use it has a when he is worried about damaging his ring. He will use it a lot from the beach on our honeymoon to backpacking every summer. He always wants to have a ring on but is worried that the beach, rapids, and camping with wear on his good ring.

My FI currently wears his engagment ring on the right hand and will continue to do so when we get his actual band.

My fiance loves his e-ring and wears it every day. When he comes home at night he puts it on our ring tree.

Well, I don´t like men wearing jewelry other than watches and wedding band (maybe I could accept a chain with a christ/baptism medallion, though no one in my family wears it and I don´t really like it), so for me a second ring for a guy is too much. Also, Men in my family don´t like wearing jewelry, so for me it´s a girly thing. I know my FH wouldn´t like the idea.
