texaslemon:  It’s definitely the right color. Now about the size… can it be sized to fit him properly? If not, don’t buy him a ring he won’t be comfortable in. Zales and other chain stores like to limit their options so they can make money on you having it sized by them. My ring is from Zales. They had to take it down from a 6 to a 4.5. Get the ring plain and see if he likes it. If he doesn’t it’s ok to return it. You can always get it engraved later on.

Find a place who will custom size the ring to a 9.75. I am a 4.75 and the 4.5 was too tight.  A little difference of size is alot on how it fits.

texaslemon:  I think stainless steel is one of the types of metal that can be resized, but is a pain to do so.  My husband got his stainless steel ring and he had to order true to size which ended up being a 10.  He ordered wrong and accidentally ordered a 10.5 at first so we just ate the cost and bought another ring at the same price.  I would see if you can find a ring at the 9.75 size instead of going up or down.  He may not like it too tight or too loose.

texaslemon:  You should be able to find plenty of jewelers who will custom size a ring for minimal cost. I don’t know where you’re looking.

texaslemon:  For stainless steel?  My husband got his for $20 at overstock.  Stainless steel is a really nice alternative if you cant afford titanium, which we couldn’t.
