Men's Warehouse ruined my dad's tux :(

Wow. I’d be calling corporate offices if I were your dad. They should be finding the original tux from a different location and correctly doing the alterations. I would NOT let this fly.

I would be so mad too. I’m sorry that you and your dad have to go through this. I’m shocked that the manager made your dad buy a new tux when clearly, it’s the seamstress who badly messed it up. Your dad shouldn’t have to pay for any alterations.

Since you don’t really have much time, and he already purchased a new one, (if i was in your situation) I would give them a review on yelp, AND I would email corporate and let them know your dissatisfaction with that location. It may not do much, but at least you voiced out your opinions and your experience. That’s just me though.  

Anyways, I hope everything works out esp on your big day and that your dad’s tux fit him well!

Laur12:  Wait, they made him pay for a new tux? Did they offer to fix/replace the one they messed up? And they made him pay for the alterations THEY messed up? 

That is ridiculous. You need to call the head office, do not let this go until they fix their mistakes.

Laur12:  I am surprised that your Dad was not able to deal with this.

 I just can’t see a seamstress messing up so badly that he couldn’t get the jacket on. My suspician is that they sent him the wrong jacket. It might be Vera Wang, but likely someone else’s Vera Wang.

Have him call corporate and straighten this out. There is no way he should be paying for two sets of alterations. I firmly believe they have enough time to redo the work and send him the Vera Wang he wanted.

I would say you should escalate this further. Your father spent good money and got shitty service for it. Definitely go to head office. Good luck!

That’s horrible! Yes you guys need to be calling corporate and cause enough noise for them to fix this. I’m so sorry

Call corporate! But, if (and only if) you continue getting brushed off, I’ve seen a number of issues “magically” get resolved when they are brought to the offending company’s attention on Facebook. You can also try an honest, unemotional review of that particular location on Yelp, etc.

That is completely unacceptable! I just read your story to my fiancé (we share your date and purchased his suit through MW). We are both stunned – your dad needs to go back and stand up and inform them this is THEIR problem. They should be overnighting a replacement tux and paying for the alterations, and apologizing profusely along the way. They need to refund his money for the new tux. If I were him, I’d also be letting them know if they do not do these things, I will be contacting the BBB. good luck! Let us know how this turns out!

That is RIDICULOUS!! THEY should be rushing an order for the tux he originally purchased, not making him pay for those jacked up alterations, AND giving him a discount! How dare they force your dad to purchase a tux he doesn’t even like because of THEIR mistake?!?!?! Seriously, don’t let this fly! I can’t believe the lack of customer service!
