Usnure where to post this – I’ll give this a go in the ‘apaper’ section
We are having family style platters ( 3 diff meats / fish + side veggies + salad) for the wedding. The original idea for the menu was to have it written up on blackboards. Name place cards were yet to be decided on.
But I went to a wedding on the weekend & each person had a menu, with their name (as placecards) on it which i though was a nice touch. They killed two birds w one stone. Unsure if it matters, but each guest was able to choose their meals out of 2 options.
I’ve priced it out & the $$ are comparable. Would it be weird to serve family styled platters but each person have a menu?
I don’t think a menu per table would work as we are have long / & double trestle tables.

For my daughter’s wedding, we are using “mini menus”. That’s what I call them. The guests entrees will have already been chosen via rsvp. We need to identify the entree choice to the servers so she is using smaller versions of a menu card as placecards with entree choice under the guest’s name. Then farther down it will list the rest of the meal as it comes with that paricular entree. They will be tucked into pocket folded napkins so the name and entree show. Doing this saves us about $850. I think this idea looks lovely and was a great solution for her situation. I think it would work for you also. It is a nice little touch without being too over the top or costing too much.
