I think that with most maggie's you can order it with either a button or corset back ... I just looked on her website and you can order it as a decorative button over zipper closure.

I had the same problem with Maggie dresses. I did not like the corset back, but Maggie won't make a dress with buttons.
My dress looks similar, but it has a zipper back, and I'm getting buttons added to it. I am with you about disliking the corset back--it's why I never even considered Maggie dresses. The dress I have is discontinued, but you may be able to find it--Oleg Cassini CT229. Click Here
Also, I think Casablanca makes some similar dresses. Also, Demetrios has one, too, I think. Lastly, ther are similar ones by Monique Lhuillier and Lazaro. It depends on your budget.

It has straps but they can be removed. I am having the straps removed and it is also available hollow to hem so if you are short it is a great option to make sure you get the beautiful bottom.
Impression 2976 is very similar to that one. It comes with a belt/bow but when I tried it on they had already removed the bow and I think you can remove the rest of the ribbon too if you want.
My dress is similar but with buttons down the back. It's Enzoani Dakota.
@Jessica22580 - I love my Dakota!!! I didn't think it would look good on me since I have hips and a butt, but it gives me the PERFECT hourglass figure. For once I feel good about my hips and not self conscious!!!
my dress is in this style and i loooooove it! i couldn't find a picture of the back, but its super pretty. it is zippered and has the buttons going down as well. this is a demetrios dress.

It has a button back and lace in the mermaid style, but the bust is different. It's satin or something--I think the woman in the store called it "envelope" style? It sounds strange but it looks great on. And where I was looking it was pretty cheap--around $1300.
I've noticed that those Spanish brands that seem interrelated somehow--Pronovias, La Sposa, and San Patrick--tend to have a lot of lace gowns, but I can't recommend any specific ones other than this one. The gown you posted is so gorgeous though! I hope you can just get that one with buttons.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I did see that you could order it with a buttoned down back but I'm looking to buy a used gown cheap so I was wondering how many dresses there were out there for possibilities that already have all the features. All the stores that I went to that even had this gown in stock to try on only had the corset back :(
@Jessica22580 - No fittings yet. I think it comes in sometime in June (thank goodness, I need to get serious about my exercise/diet regime!). My wedding isn't until September. How about you?

Does anyone know of a gown just like or very similar to Phillipa by Maggie Sottero only with a buttoned down back instead of a corset back? I like the mermaid style and the all-over lace, everything but the corset back.
