So I ordered a dress (true mermaid) after losing about 20 pounds. Hello Thanksgiving and Welcome back 10 pounds. I got a little belly back (not a lot, just my pooch, ya know?) and I am having nightmares about sitting down and having my belly poke out or rolls showing.
I keep telling myself that it will be altered and should fit you to where that doesn’t happen. Is this accurate or does a mermaid style show EVERYTHING?

I’m sure you will be fine! FI had lost 12 lbs before thanksgiving, and we SPLURGED over the holiday weekend. He had “gained” 10 back, but its only been 3 days of eating healthy again and they are already nearly gone. Water weight or something.

Yes, mermaid shows everything..start those crunches now. If your wedding is in September, you have plenty of time.
My whole life I never had a flat stomach. But I did on my wedding day 😉

Depending on your dress and the amount of structure/boning, you won’t have anything poking out. I had a mermaid-type dress, and I am by no means skinny. But my dress had a TON of boning, so even when I was seated, I was still completely held-in and upright. It was a bit uncomfortable to sit, just because you litterally couldn’t bend, but at least everything was held in place!

@ApocalypseCow: Agreed with pps- you have plenty of time to shed the Thanksgiving excess:) I had a very tight fitting mermaid, and yes it would have shown any extra weight for sure.

I had a mermaid and I would say they show quite a lot esp when sitting or bending.
Start reducing your bloating foods now (breads, rice, pasta) and you’ll find you start to slim due to water weight leaving the body. Keep drinking lots of water and eating good stuff and you’ll be fiiiiiiiiine by your wedding day!

@ApocalypseCow: You could try the 24-Day Challenge through Advocare to give you a good headstart. 10 days of a gentle herbal cleanse to get rid of water weight and any “bad foods” that are hanging around in your digestive track (I lost 9 pounds just through the cleanse) and then 14 days of a metabolic supplemental system.
