Thought this might be fun! Do any of you bees have a picture of yourself in both a ball gown and a mermaid??? The salon I went to only let me photograph the dress I bought, a mermaid. But id like to see the different silhouettes on the same person, and which did you end up picking?!

I have some, ugh, I look so bad in a memaid but here we go anyway:

Neither is my dress. I ended up going with a lace fit and flare. But here ya go.

@Manda613: I hated the mermaid sillouhette on me. It accentuated my broad shoulders to an alarming degree.
This was the biggest ballgown I tried on:
I ended up with an a-line:
Hope that helps!

No photos unfortunately but I’m a Bee who tried on a mermaid dress (thought that was what I wanted) and ended up with a ballgown!

I tried on a bunch… here are my two favs.
I started off thinking I wanted a ballgown/a-line; ended up going for mermaid/trumpet! I like both, why can’t we just wear these dresses in daily life?! haha

@Manda613: The ballgowns were fun and pretty but I fell in love with my mermaid. First dress is the one I went with.

I didn’t end up with any of these dresses. My dress was a fit and flare in the end! For reference, I’m a bit under 5’1″, about 120 pounds in these photos.

These were my top two. Went with the ballgown. Altered the neckline & made some other changes.

I really loved my mermaid but ended up with a ballgown.

I always envisioned myself in either a mermaid or a ballgown. I soon realized that ballgowns are too much dress for my little self. Nevertheless, here is my favourite ballgown (I’m standing on a box), followed by a runner up mermaid. The last mermaid is the one I ended up picking 🙂

Here’s me in an Allure ballgown. It was so beautiful, but being only 5’2 and petite it swallowed me up!
Here’s a slight downgrade to an A-line Pronovias (some also consider it a ballgown of sorts).
And then here’s my mermaid!
And here’s altered on our big day. 🙂
