    Hi All!

I've never been to Mexico but I think we want to go for our honeymoon. We'd like to stay in an all-inclusive resort, and keep the price to about $2,500 for the both of us, flight included. I've done some looking around, but it seems like there are so many different places in Mexico that would be great! I can't decide between Cozumel, Cancun, Acapulco....

Has anyone been? Do you have any recommendations?

Mexico is fantastic and you can get some really great deals. My FI and I went to an Iberostar resort in Playa del Carmen. its a series of five hotels linked together. We stayed at Playa Paraiso and loved it! If you can afford it, I would highly recommend staying at the Grand -- its adults only and gorgeous!

    Good luck!

we're going to mexico too, try bookit.com, i saw them on cnn and got two all inclusive 7nights stay including flight from Ca to Cancun area for just a little over $2000.  I would still cross compare flights/hotels before i buy a package dlea tho.

I wouldn't go to alcapolco, we were there for a curise a few years ago, and there's nothing to do there, it's just a large large commercialized city... so unless you liked that... i much perfered ixtapa- smaller and more quaint (in comparison).

Hi!  My husband and I did part of our honeymoon in Cozumel, and then went mainland as well.  We loved the laid-back atmosphere of Cozumel (and the scuba diving is amazing.  If you need a recommendation, we used a great instructor).

Cozumel is uber-relaxing and lovely, but the mainland gives you more options if you want to go to archeological types of places (Chichen Itza is amazing), and there are beaches and wildlife reserves, snorkeling and the like.

We didn't stay at all-inclusives, but there are also some near Tulum, which is a good area to stay--close to everything, and far enough away from over-Americanized Cancun.  There's a fabulous B&B owned by some Americans, and it's named "La Selva Mariposa" if you rent a car.  It's literally AMAZING.  Check it out on trip advisor.  Also, private message me if you want more details.

Ooh!  I almost forgot.  Check out Mrs. Penguin's honeymoon in Mexico--it looks pretty fabulous.  You could get a less expensive room but still have the greatness of the hotel.  http://www.weddingbee.com/2008/06/30/excellence-playa-mujeres/

I've heard great things about Iberostar and also Gran Bahia.  We're leaning towards staying the Excellence Resort in Playa Mujeres... some friends of ours went to the Excellence in Cancun and raved about it.
