Has anyone been to Mexico in July or August? We really want to go right after the wedding so it feels like a honeymoon but I don't know if it's REALLY hot there, rainy, etc... We'd be going to Cancun most likley.

We're going to Mexico, but on the East side (Puerto Vallarta) because of hurricane season.

    From Tripadvisor.com:

Hurricane Season is officially June-November.  August, September and October are considered peak months.  In 2005 there were 27 named storms, 15 of which were hurricanes.

We've gone a number of times in August and July and have never had any issues. You do however risk it since it is hurricane season. That said its VERY HOT during those months. 90+ everyday plus humidity. We dont mind it but its def. something to consider.

My family has gone to Cancun in July for many years and we have never had any problems. It's definitely hot but we are used to that living in Houston. Some of our trips we would get rain everyday, but it was almost always a quick afternoon shower (to bring out the humidity). If you are wanting a beach, make sure to look at lots of more recent online reviews- the hurricane from a few years ago did serious damage to the beach leaving it more narrow and rocky in some places.

Thanks! Funny you say that about the beaches...

We were in Cancun in November and the government was building up the beach we were at. It SUCKED because they closed the beach for the last 2 days of our trip but I've heard it's amazing now!
