Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya! Beautiful resort, good buffet food, nice rooms (though very open-concept in regards to the bathroom, you gotta be reeaal comfy with each other!) and GORGEOUS natural-looking beach. Think white sand but with beautiful rock formations here and there. I went with the BF in May of 2012 and it was AMAZING! Grab a beer or a fruit smoothie and chill out down the lazy river!

Oh and DEFINITELY do all-inclusive! Saves not only money but also a lot of hassle! It’s nice to literally not have a care in the world.

My fiance and I are getting married in Puerto Vallarta next year at Dreams PV. We’ve gone there twice in the past year because we love it so much. It has a private beach and every room has an ocean view; it is absolutely stunning. The staff is amazing and the food is awesome! Plus it has more of a couples feel so there aren’t kids there just to get smashed and be assholes. The city itself is SO neat and super easy to get to and safe.  Puerto Vallarta is certainly different from the Cancun side but we definitely prefer it.

for cancun/riviera maya – the ones with no reservations for restaurants are always good (otherwise it can be a bit tedious being told you are allowed 3 dinner reservations in the week and the rest of the time you HAVE to go to the buffet)

i liked the excellence canucn like a pp said – beachfront waiter service (i drank a LOT of sparkling wine hahaha) activities during the day (we tried air rifle shooting as my husband wanted to, which was bizarrely far more fun than i expected). great food, adults only. only negative was the wedding – it rained for 2 out of 3 days on our mini honeymoon after our DW elsehwere hahaha

and OF course, people wer eplaying the towel game. but there is no hotel anywhere where they don’t

have also heard great things about dreams (family friendly i think) and secrets

for puerto vallarta – DH and i LOVED the palladium hotel, we went a few years ago. absolutely lovely. i guess its a chain so must be in other places too

i like all inclusives more than boutique hotels providing the food is decent and with a good variety. in hotels like excellence – theyre expensive but well worth it

Absolutely loved Secrets Maroma Beach.  Quick flight, total relaxation.  No complants.

I have never been to an all inclusive, but my boyfriend’s family owns a travel agency in Aukumal, just south of Cozumel so we go a lot, and I love it! You are going just at the end of sea turtle hatching season, so you should definitely do a lot of beach walking!

Moon Palace – in Cancun. It’s pricy but worth it. It’s considered a little more “Upscale” but the service is great and everything is well-organized.

My most recent favourite though is “Gran Bahia Principe Tulum”. I had a BLAST here every single day and night.
