Hi smilez! There's much to choose from on your stop over. What kinds of things are you and your FI interested in? Shopping? Outdoorsy/active stuff? Historical? Beach? Miami is a sprawling city with limited mass transit system, so renting a car would be ideal. Popular places to stay would include Miami Beach and Coral Gables.
I'd be happy to give you some suggestions! :o)
I'd stay in South Beach one weekend and maybe Coral Gables the next weekend. So you get a variety. When in Sobe you totally don't need a car, I lived there for years without a car and I just walked everywhere, took a taxi, or there's a 25cent neighborhood bus you can take to zip around. I'm not as familiar with the Coral Gables area- you'd probably need a car for that one.

Hi ladies!
My FI and are will be visiting Miami for two weekends (with a cruise in between) and so I was wonderng if there were any areas that you would recommend to stay in or to avoid? Do we need to rent a car? Anything you'd recommend doing?
Thanks SO MUCH for your help! :)
