I've never been to a wedding there, but I live nearby. There are lots of great places for pictures!
thanks emerald... the guy in charge of events is really great, i guess i been on the longest reception site hunt that i just rather get the bad places out of the way asap lol
I had visited there as they had invited wedding planners from the area to check out their new venue. They are really focused on ensuring that the clients are happy and customizing the event for you which is a big plus. If you like the location (great water and NYC views) and it fits your wedding style, you may want to keep it on your list. One word of caution - I did have a meal there and it was OK. This could have been because it had just opened and they were working things out and sometimes the special event food is different (can be better or worse) than the regular menu food. I would just recommend having dinner there yourself if you truly like the venue and the staff.
@danystew - thanks !! yeh im def keeping it in mind, we are lookin for a place with a skyline view, it would fit perfectly with us..
im going to check out the food and see how that pans out... =)
Lovelii...There's a great view of the city all along the waterfront...there's a series of waterfront walkways that wrap around from that area of Newport all the way up to the walkway that leads to Hoboken.
@emerald, the FI and I had dinner at Michael Anthony's last nite. Can I tell you how delish the food was.. dessert was my fave (of course)
We actually were seated facing the skyline - it was absolutely gorgeous, !!!
The whole place was pretty great, the FI was def impressed. He plans on going back soon & thats always a good sign since he's the one who's tough when it comes to picking anything wedding related (besides my dress of course lol)
Thanks for the help girl !!
@lovelii - Did you end up booking Michael Anthony's for your wedding venue? :)
I live in JC and eat at Michael Anthony's a lot...but only for the views. The food is OK and the service is ok during the week, but on weekends (especially holiday weekends) they barely acknowledge you. The bartenders are normally consistent in good service but beware of events there...of course its an amazing view but I just get nervous about their catered events...I want to have my engagement party there so its hard to judge.....if anyone goes to an event there, please let us know!!
@Jaybee - thats weird. I went on a weekend with my fiance, they were very nice there and the food was delicious.Especially the dessert.
If anyone does have their wedding/engagement party there, or maybe even go to an event there - please give your feedback... thanks bees =)
We just had our wedding there this weekend, and it was perfect! We weren't sure what to expect since there weren't any reviews for weddings, but they worked with us, and made sure we had what we wanted from the beginning until the end. The food was incredible from the cocktail hour to the meat and cheese board they brought out at the very end. The set up was great as we only had 83 people, but people RAVED about our reception. I would highly recommend using them, as they are hospitable, and will work to get what you want, and within budget. Not only that, but for hall food, hands down fantastic. Big thanks to Chef Anthony, Chris, and Laura for giving us our dream wedding!
What are their rates more of less..i'm sure its expensive like all of nj hah, but if a price range can be give that would be great thanks.
@ brancatelliwedding - congrats on your wedding... im really happy to hear that it was amazin... they seem very nice - ive really only spoken to Chris and he's great. The view is nothing less than beautiful. Do you have any pictures of the deco ? I love seeing all the different ideas of brides =)
@ chipmunk - their prices really range... i definitely suggest you call and speak to Chris, He sends you an email with a few attachments with photos of the place as well as what foods they offer - it seemed a little comfusing to me at first so I called him back and he was nice enough to explain it all to me but basically they will work with your budget which is great because Ive dealt with places who pretty much just dont want to deal with you if your budget doesnt include their minimum costs.
I'm also looking at Michael Anthony's - any other updates? Lovelii - where did you end up booking your wedding?
I also agree with danystew, the food is just OK... DH and I go there from time to time for drinks & the views and everytime we've eaten there is hit or miss.. We've had delicious meals there and have had meals that tasted like airplane food..
