My fiance and I are in the rpocess of redecorating our house. (yay!) And we would like to know your ladies experiences on microfiber. Keep in mind we have a big slobery english bulldog, and little, slobery, 19 month old son!

It would work, as long as its a removable slip cover that you can throw in the wash machine

Ok thanks! Because I have gotten mix results from furniture salesman. I had a group of them bombard me today, telling me that for my price range I should really get the bonded leather sectional instead because it is much more durable. Yet, I find so many people say its crap!

we have THIS beautiful microfiber couch from Crate and Barrel (expensive! but the best purchase i feel like we have made – worth the money)
i find it really really easy to clean – seriously…like just a wet towel and some wiping usually does the trick. i love the microfiber.

We have a black lab puppy and a light tan microfiber couch and we find it really easy to clean.
Mud, slobber, food etc all comes out with a wet cloth.
The only downside is it does collect the dog hair – but we vacuum twice a week and that keeps it clean and looking fresh!

I agree. We have 2 crazy dogs and a quick wipe down once a week with a damp cloth keeps it looknig new. We have the same problem with dog hair so we also vacuum it once a week or so, and it all comes off.
The only problem I’ve had was over the winter I seemed to have crazy static electricy coming from it. I guess with all the layers plus blankets I’d get shocked everytime I touch FI or the dogs. (but I’m pretty accident prone and it could have just been me)

it’s easy to wipe off, but it collects dog hair like crazy. i would get it in a color that kind of matches your dog to make all of the hair a little less noticeable, and vacuum it frequently!

Our main couch is microfiber, and while I don’t love how it looks, it is the easiest couch to maintain, ever! We have spilled just about everything on it, have two crazy shedding dogs, and with a quick swipe of a washcloth, the thing looks brand new. Ours is from La-Z-Boy.

I have heard positive things about Microfiber – but I am pro leather b/c to me leather is even easier to keep clean 🙂

We have microfiber couch covers… They look great. But We also have a slobbery dog and a drooling teething 11 month old. So when they get messy you can just take emoff and throw them in the wash. They come out looking new again 🙂

We’ve had a microfiber suede couch for over 5 years now and it’s been GREAT.
We have a dog that shed a lot and loves to lick on the couch and do crazy running around the living room jump on the couch, jump off and run around. hehe
It’s super easy to clean and the fabric holds up really well.
I’m generally just not a fan of leather because of how it wears.

We had a microfiber comforter, and my dog chewed a hole in it and ate some feathers. That dog is going to be the death of me.

I have an Ashley microfiber couch and recliner In a Toffee color have had it for about 3 years now and it looks brand new… I have a dog a 7 year old … You can wipe practically anything off this couch with just a little damp soapy water…. including marker & pen (know from experience). I have even been able to clean it fairly at ease with no after smell when my daughter got sick on it one day. I personally would highly reccomend it but I would go for a little darker color…. My mom has a light tan one and she complains all the time how she cant keep it clean

I have a microfiber couch which i found was NOT pet friendly. My dog would hop up there and drool or lick his paws and there are stains from his saliva. I’ve steam cleaned it, but its not really fully clean. I’d never buy another.

@Linz1231: I know that sucks that your dog ate a hole, but I think it’s hilarious. My dog chewed through a leg in a barstool so I totally know what you’re talking about.
