I ate saltless saltines for dinner the other night.
Love the pop tarts in the micro! Very savvy!
I totally eat vending machine pop tarts in a pinch at the office.
I ate poptarts really often as a kid and the only way I've ever cooked them was in the microwave!
I've made Ramen noodles in the microwave before. Lean pockets are also tastey in a pinch.
My husband loves Hotpockets. We call it his emergency food. Basically, food for him to eat when I don't cook or am at knitting. I refuse to eat them, but he likes them.
I always eat poptarts right out of the package - I don't like them hot at all!!! :)
I always thought that the Pop Tarts box suggested the microwave. Because I know I used to laugh at it, as it said something about heating them in the microwave for a ridiculously small amount of time, like three seconds.
My desperation food is cereal for dinner.
at my MIL house she drinks her coffee black and I prefer cream so I put ice cream in my coffee (I dont care for milk in my coffee). It works great!
I was at my aunts this past weekend and there wasnt anything healthy to eat for breakfast so made myself a salad... which isnt so weird for me since I often eat non-breakfast foods for breakfast. But strange to other people I suppose.
@carrieknitscake: DH likes the lean pockets too. I used to (well I do still like them but dont eat them anymore) with red hot while in college. Add some brussel sprouts and it was a quick dinner for me ALL the time.

So I was at my fiance's house this morning. He eats Raisin Bran for breakfast, and with my deep hatred for raisins, I requested that he purchase something for me to eat mornings I'm over there. Being sweet, as usual, he bought me blueberry poptarts. Though I can't remember the last time I had poptarts, it *is* my favorite flavor. Problem is, he doesn't have a toaster, and since I was sure he'd get mad at me heating up the oven for some poptarts, I was forced to attempt making them in the microwave. I was worried they'd explode. It was surprisingly not bad!
Anyone else ever eaten anything strange or out of their comfort zone out of desperation?
