aren't peonies in season in June? They are really beautiful, although not the sturdiest.
For our outdoor sunset ceremony and evening reception, we used roses, lysianthus, wax flowers, hydrangea and seeded eucalyptus. They all held up beautifully! I'm not too sure how hydrangea may do in the heat of the day, though.
Orchids and calla lilies would fare well, too.
I'm using sunflowers for my reception. They are great because they are very hardy and don't wilt. I made a trial centerpiece over a week ago with some sunflowers I found at the grocery store and they still look great.
I'm using peonies, early sunflowers, and other flowers that are in season for my June 12 wedding. Our flowers are from a local flower farm so a lot of it will depend on what is in bloom. :-)
