    Mommas to be!

    I'm in my second tri today!!! 13 weeks + 2 days. Woot! Woot!

    In the Early Pregnancy Support Thread we had talked about creating a thread for those of us that are no longer in "early" pregnancy. Which is loosely deemed first trimester.

    So mommas/to be in your second tri, come share and support! :)

    @regberadaisy:  I'm here!  :)  16 weeks tomorrow!  I guess this is the easy part for us?  I am less tired for sure.  I went to the doctor yesterday, and although I am COMPLETELY showing, I have only gained 3 lbs!  How in the world is that possible?  But like the doctor said, if a normal person gained 3 lbs, you wouldn't notice because it would be spread all over.  For me, it is all right in the front of my belly!  But man, my belly is big!

    I'm at 14 weeks today! Yay!

    Though the only real support I need is in regards to the fact that I got top braces put on yesterday and I am miserable. My cheeks are all cut up and I'm hungry and can only eat soup. And crap keeps getting stuck in them. Thank God it's only for like 2-3 months. I serously don't know how you people went years with these horrible things on. Wow, I am super complain-y. :)

    16 weeks 2 days here. I wish I only gained 3 lbs! I'm at 8 lbs gained right now. I have one pair of pants that still fits me with the zipper closed (they were too big on me before I got pregnant).

    I am having major pain in my pelvic region. It's worse when I get up from sitting, sometimes I have to hold the lower part of my belly when I walk. I also have lower back and hip pain and sleeping is becoming uncomfortable--I'm up to using 5 pillows in addition to my big ass pregnancy pillow and nothing's working. Oh and crazy sinus headaches.

    I'm glad the nausea is over, but so far this pregnancy is harder than I thought it was going to be. But I love hearing my baby's heartbeat!

    17w1d.  I am officially one of the "lucky" ones with 2nd trimester morning sickness.  I've already puked twice this week :-(  Anyone else in the same boat?  Other than the nausea I feel great these days...

    @heathaah: I've gained 4 lbs, but also straight to my belly!  Depending on what I'm wearing sometimes I just look like I'm getting chubby, but other times I really look pregnant.

    @mrsjazz:  I am sorry you are having a hard time!  Sinus headaches just suck.  Sleeping is starting to get uncomfortable for me too.  I really struggle to fall asleep, only to wake up an hour later to pee!

    @skibobrown:  I think I just look pregnant because it is ALL in my stomach.  Or I look like I had an extra huge meal!  Naturally I try to suck it in at times, but man that hurts to try...and doesn't even work!

    @bree72:  Oh man.  Those things hurt.  So glad it is only for a short time.  Mine were just over 2 years!

    @heathaah:

    YAY! For bump! I can't wait to have a visible bump. As of last week I have gained 2.4 lbs.

    @bree72:

    That sucks that you have added discomfort during pregnancy. :( Complain away!

    @mrsjazz:

    I have sinus headaches too!!! They have been more prevalent since pregnancy. Almost daily. Lower back and hip pain is common for me even pre-pregnancy so I foresee it escalating soon. :( I'm currently pondering on purchasing a pregnancy pillow.

    @skibobrown:

    I've been lucky with no puking thus far. But last week or so nausea has come back full force.

    I've also been more tired in the last week since I have been all of first tri!

    I'm really hoping second tri will bring my energy and appetite back. I know I'm doing pretty good nutrition wise but I can't help but feel I am not doing as good as I can be!

    I'm 15 weeks and 3 days.  Definitely getting my energy back slowly. I've had a bit of a scare with protein in my urine at my last appointment and I'm still waiting for the lab results to come back on th at.

    I've also not been lucky with prenatal vitamins. First I started on Vitafol One, they were nice and small but they made my mouth taste terrible all day long, so I switched to CitralNatal harmony and they were great but out of stock and none of the pharmacys had any luck ordering it.  so this week I started citraNatal Assure but the tabs are HUGE and instead of being one a day, its two a day.

    @skibobrown: me! I just stopped getting sick a couple weeks ago

    @heathaah: Your bump is perfect!!!! So round and cute, mine, not so much!

    I'm 21 weeks now. my weight is going up and down. One day I lose 3 lbs, the next I gain it back plus a lb or 2!  I have yet to post a pic of my bump, but I suppose I could.... This was last week at 20 wksMiddle Pregnancy Support Thread! : wedding Photo01051

    I tried yoga for the pain and it helped a little, I just have to keep up with it. I've also been treating my headaches at work with a chai latte from Starbucks (it's worked 3 times, I think it's the small amount of caffeine).

    16 weeks and 3 days (counting today) I am feeling a little less sick throughout the day but still having a HARD time eating and still vomit after eating from time to time. I have not gained any weight & I am a grump at work Cool!

    I would have liked to have gotten back into regularly working out by now.. but its just so hard, especially with this constant feeling of pukey in my throath still!

    Awww...you ladies have such cute bumps! I just look fat. I've only gained about a pound, but my belly is suddenly super jiggly. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I will round out a bit and look less fat, more pregnant.

    I'm 18 weeks today! I've been pretty good the past couple weeks except for a massive allergy/congestion problem that makes it hard to sleep or breathe. My headaches have finally tapered off after 4-5 weeks of continuous pain.

    My belly has definitely popped to where I look pregnant, just in the past week or so. I'm so glad I look pregnant and not fat finally.

    Anyone else just not in the Halloween costume spirit this year? We're going to a costume party on Friday and I've been trying to find something. I bought one yesterday, but I'm having to perform surgery on it to get it to fit comfortably. I just felt awful trying them on because everything fit so poorly and they were all way more slutty than I wanted. (The one I bought is getting a new, longer skirt as we speak.) Normally, I'm okay with showing a little leg but I just kind of felt awkward and inappropriate. It doesn't help that I'm not pregnant enough to do a "pregnant ____" costume.

    @bree72: I have not been looking as presentable as I'd like to lately (acne and I haven't done my hair in ages), so I'll post a pre-pregnancy pic of me from the summer so you can see my hair. I have had locks for 4 years, I'll post my fave hairstyle, I call it the Betty Rubble :)

    @zippylef: I'm not doing a whole costume. I bought that pregnancy skeleton t-shirt with the baby skeleton and DH has the sympathy bump t-shirt with the burger and fries. I only look pregnant in certain clothing and from the side. From the front I just look like I've been eating really well.

    Has anyone else been brushing their teeth like maniacs? Ever since a week or so when I had a foul taste in my mouth after every meal, to the point where it made me nauseous I've been brushing my teeth after every meal.

    I'm averaging a minimum of 3 times every day.

    At least I'll have really good teeth during pregnancy! Ha.

    I barely have any bump at all! and I'm 15 weeks and 3 days. My stomach was super flat before I got pregnant and now its slightly more rounded and protrudes a teeny bit, but I dont have an authentic pregnancy bump. Frown

    @Rosie Girl: I take my vitamins at night too. Mainly because I dread taking them. yuck!

    @regberadaisy:  That's one of the common symptoms that I never had.  In fact, brushing my teeth makes me gag.  I have to go really slowly and take my time.  It takes like 5 minutes.

    @mrsjazz: Yay! thanks for sharing. I think locks are so fun!

    @bells: That's surprising that you don't have any sort of bump yet. I thought the flatter your stomach was, the quicker you would show. Maybe you have super strong abs.

    @JustlikeHeaven: I really really want to get back into working out, as well, but I just feel so lazy. And a simple 3 mile walk makes me feel like I got hit by a bus the next day. I've been doing a prenatal yoga video that helps with stretching, but I would love to get in at least 3 day of walking and just a little bit of strength training. We'll see.

    @regberadaisy: I had to go out and buy a new sonicare because I just didn't feel like my teeth were getting clean enough. My mouth just tastes gross lately.

    @heathaah:

    Interesting, I did not realize it was a common symptom.

    I like brushing my tongue too and there was a point where that was making me gag. Thankfully that has passed.

    @bree72:

    We switched to Sonicare a couple months ago! It's pretty awesome.

    I'm gearing up to "officially" join you guys - the last few weeks of the first tri take forever. But I also don't feel like I belong on the early thread anymore since it's been so long since the joy and shock of the BFP.

    I ordered a Boppy total body pillow today - my back is KILLING me and I think I need better support than the decorative pillow I throw between my knees at night.

    What are you all doing to find relief?

    @bree72: I think its because I'l tall (5ft 11) with a long torso. It barely shows at all. My mom is also tall and said she was the same way with me and my sister but we were both big babies. I guess its just the way we carry. I even asked my OB if it was normal for my tummy to be this small and she said all the baby measurements were fine so everything is ok.

    13 weeks, 1 day here! I am still pretty tired, but am hopeful my energy will come back soon. I took a two hour nap earlier and feel refreshed! Maybe this is the beginning as when I took a nap before, I was ready to go back to sleep lol. It's so sweet how excited my husband is. He loves rubbing my belly and saying 'hi' to our little one. He missed the 12 week u/s, but he can't stop talking about the one coming up in a couple weeks. It's getting exciting!

    @heathaah: I always slightly start to pee my pants when I brush my teeth! I think its because I gag myself too, and then I don't have quite the bladder control I used to!

    @mrsjazz: You are so frickin cute! You are TINY with a cute bump!!!!!

    My cousin delivered her baby, and never knew she was pregnant, true story. We have a picture of her about 2 wks before she delivered, and you can't tell at all. She only gained 6 lbs. She has really bad hips and has had lots of surgery on them, and her baby settled in them and they just popped out of place! She thought she had the flu, and delivered on the bathroom floor by herself!

    @Goldilocks1107: I want one of those! Tell me if it works for you! I have been using this really big stuffed dog! Its floppy, and I use its legs between mine, and its body half under my belly. It helps a little, but kind of gets tangled up with us if I roll around!

    @Rosie Girl: Thanks! Tiny?! My OB would not agree with you--according to BMI I'm overweight and he's been telling me to be careful with my weight. His nurse ticked me off because they asked me my normal weight (164) but this is when I weigh myself in my undaroos--they weigh me fully clothed with shoes on (and for some reason I've made all of my appointments right after lunch). She put the weight I gave her as my start weight instead of the weight she actually recorded on the scale--so they have me at a 13 lb weight gain--instead of 8 lb as my normal scale says.

    @Marriedandlovingit:  I am 6 ft tall, but have always had a bit of a belly.  I am 14 weeks, and definately getting round.  If I can get FI to take a picture tonight I will post it! I also have only lost weight since getting pregnant, and am still not back to the pre-pregnancy 190lbs that I was!

    I know that my Mom (who is 5'10"-5'11") she was alllllll belly, so I'm hoping that's how it is for me, too!

    @mrsjazz: Um, you look teeny! They can shove it! I have made all my appts for the evening, so I always weigh more too. Plus clothes and shoes and such. So, the morning of my appts, as soon as I get up I pee, strip down, and weigh myself! the nurse at my office is really cool and always just lets me tell her what my weight is :) I would sure like to be "overweight" like you!
