Yeah, the bees can choose. They could either convert all your old 'helstrong' posts over to 'Miss So and So' or you can start fresh as a Miss Bee. Either way, you pick if you want to 'come out' as your previous avatar.
Hmm ok. I don't even want to be a Bee... I'd be terrible at it. I just suddently wondered today if any of the bee's were people that I'd recognize as a different name.
thanks ladies!
I remember a post a while back where some of the Bees outed themselves and said what their previous usernames were. Not all of them say though.
Not all Bees are former Hive members. Some people apply purely as a blog author! It's actually been quite diverse!
That's actually a good question lol I'd never thought of it before
I figured that they weren't all Hive members beforehand. I just figured that at least some of them were (since we are always having posts about who wants to be a bee) and just randomly wondered.
My brain is strange sometimes :)
I had almost 5,000 posts under my belt when I became a bee-- Based on that plus my bio blurb it was pretty easy to tell who I once was. My old screenname still exists, but it's empty as all of my posts/etc were transferred to this name. :)
Some choose to start from scratch, but I didn't.
I always kind of wonder too :) There've been a few who I knew right away who they were (like you, Scissors - btw, I still totally want to call you by your old name whenever I run across you on the boards, which isn't nearly as often as it used to be when we were both on here 24/7), and there are some who I have no idea at all.
The more prolific a poster is on the boards, the easier it is to 'spot' them, I guess.
nope!
and i also had my meager 500 posts transferred over to my new name as well :)
@cybee We're all volunteers! :)
I had my posts transfered over as well when I became a Bee - I had about 850 board posts, and I didn't want to lose them :)
@ddw- I know. I tend to be lurky lately, just because I'm so crazy busy. Do. Not. Like. :p
@cvbee: Bees don't get paid. And a hostess is there to welcome new bees, keep discussions going, and try to keep the peace here.
We hostesses are also volunteers :) and also had to go through an application process (in which they measure how much of your life you're willing to give up for the Hive... just kidding!).

So this might be a stupid question, may be somewhere else in the policies or something but I'm not sure.
So what if a Weddingbee subscriber (someone who has a user name, and posts to the boards and what not) becomes a bee later on?
For example, if I, Helstrong, applied and was accepted to be a bee, what happens to my screen name? Obviously at that point I become a Miss. Something.
Does the bee ever tell the hive that she was once "Helstrong" for example?
I hoep that made sense.
