Ok all you bees, I have a question or two.
Has anyone gotten married or know of anyone who had an event at Mildal Farms in Edgerton Kansas?
I have fallen in LOVE with this venue! The only down side is that you can’t sign a contract until 3 months in advance of the event. This being said, i’m SUPER nervous to get my hopes up and then three months out find out that someone else has snagged my (perspective) date before I had the chance.
I was wondering if anyone has has any experience with this policy, and if I shuld be fearfull of this rule.
We just can’t seem to find any other pleace that we love this much!

Mildale is my location. After seeing it, nothing else seemed to be “right.”
I’m assuming you only want one day since you’re asking about the three month policy. From our experience this is what they do: If you want the location for one day, they will take your information. If someone comes along before the three month deadline who is interested in the whole weekend then they will contact you and ask if you want the whole weekend. You then have the choice to get the location for the whole weekend or turn it over.
Also, they will only have one wedding per weekend regardless of what day you want (so if you want Saturday but someone reserved it before you did for Friday and no one is interested in the whole weekend, they get the location).
If you haven’t already, call and make an appointment to see the site. Katie is awesome and has been wonderful to answer every question we have had!

@veidner: We are in the same position as you! We just started looking at locations in the KC area and this one just seems so amazing but I can’t get over the 8,000 just to rent it with nothing else included. I am all about planning so the 3 month rule completly scares me, as well as only 24 hrs to setup and take down!
Have you gone to talk to Katie yet? We are thinking about making an appointment this week. Let me know if you have gotten any additional information. My friend went to a wedding there where the couple only rented it for the day so I will post what information she gives me.

@rachel_e: How has your experience with Mildale been? I am trying to predict all the obstacles that might come with planning a wedding there before booking. Are you using a wedding planner or DOC? I am worried our budget will be completely blown after looking at all the rentals, catering, DJ, etc. with the hefty price tag of the actual venue. Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated. We have also looked at the Fresh Air Farm but after looking at the cost I feel like we could do what we really want for a little more. Thanks in advance! 🙂
