My hunny is in the Air Force and we are trying to decide where to go for our honeymoon.  For awhile in the summer he was not allowed to go to Mexico.  That ban is lifted for now, but I would hate to book a venue that may be restricted in the fall (Sept 2010 wedding date).  I know there is a military resort hotel in Hawaii.  Are there others in other parts of the country/world?

Where are other military newlyweds going for your honeymoon?

Woohoo for the Armed Forces Vacation Club!

Super simple, usually pretty cheap!  Just book as early as possible. (Btw - We've stayed at Shades of Green in Disney World and thought it was fantastic!!)

And yes, there are a couple options in Hawaii - The HaleKoa in on Waikiki.  It does book up early but often has cancellations since everyone moving to HI is autobooked in for a couple weeks (and most find a home in that time adn cancel the rest of the time) - also, people deploy when they didnt think they were going to and have to cancel.  There are also some great cabins on Oahu, and you can crash and decent places IN the Volcano National Park on the Big Island at the Kiluea Military Camp.

Edelweiss is in Garmish Germany- beautiful!  Been there a number of times- but lots of kids like any military hotel.  Fly into Munich, drive down in about an hour.  Can drive into Austria/Innsbrook as well.

Rocky Blue is a USAF run program open to every servicemember that works with Keystone resort in Colorado.  We used it and its a GREAT deal- the mountains have year round activities.  Lodging was beautiful, discounts on resturants etc.

Halekoa is nice as well and a great deal for Hawaii.

There are also military lodging options at almost every base.  Italy has great deals about an hour outside of Florence- easy to hop the train and travel around Italy.

    Good luck!

You want quiet and beautiful, there is a Naval base in Hawaii, on Kauai, the base is called PMRF (Pacific Missle range Facility) REALLY REALLY SMALL BASE! My brother was stationed there for a few years! Military can rent out beach HOUSES!!!! The island is called the Garden Island! Its so beautiful and going from Island to Island is not that bad $$ wise, I have not been there for a few years but when I went last in like 2003 it was like $50 for a day for the House, its a fully furnished beach house on the beach on the small and quiet base there, nice long quiet beach! so nice!
