@Chrysoberyl:  May I suggest you call one of the military bases and speak to someone in family service because they are very knowledgeable and are not recruiters. They will give you a clear picture without pressure.Just tell them that you dont want to speak to a recruiter but have some general questions about joining. They will give you the ins and outs and who you can speak to.

@Chrysoberyl:  I dont know the exact name but they is a group call the Family Readiness Group (FRG) they are there to help military families with services. Even if you were to just stop in I promise you they are so nice and will help you as much as they can….You have alot to offer the military and I send you a BIG HUG for even thinking about it. SmileMy FI is in the military.
