DS is 12 weeks old and I’ve just noticed the last few days that my milk supply seems to be decreasing a lot. He is EBF and I always pump at night after I put him to bed because he sleeps 10-11 hours straight through the night. The last few nights when I’ve pumped I only got about 50 ml and that was pumping from both sides. Up until lately I was getting close to 150 mL from one side alone! My boobs also feel much squishier and less hard/full. Does anyone know what could be causing this?! I’m really worried that I won’t produce the amount of milk that he needs. He’s still pooping and peeing a lot though. He had two big poops today so that must mean he’s getting enough to eat but I’m worried my supply will continue to decrease.
And just for the fun….have any of you gotten pregnant while breastfeeding and did that cause an immediate dip in your milk supply?

The decrease in pumping output is propbably just your supply adjusting and regulating down to LO’s needs and is really common at the twelve week mark. Is there any particular reason apart from sttn that you’re pumping? As long as your LO is still gaining weight and having plenty of outputs then it sound’s like you’re doing great!

Kemma: when he started sleeping for so long at night I was worried that it would have an effect on my milk supply. He goes to bed at 8:00 every night so I usually pump around 10:30 or 11, right before I go to bed. I’m trying to get a stash of milk in the freezer in case DH and I ever want to go out and have to leave the baby with my mom or someone.
I haven’t worried about my supply at all up until this point. DS was over 13 lbs at his 8 week check up and I’m guessing he’s well over 15 lbs now. I’m just worried that my milk supply will decrease and I won’t be able to keep up with his monster appetite! lol 🙂

Yep! Supply regulating. It sucks, because after this happened to me, I went from being able to pump 4-5 oz per breast each time to only 1 oz. Which meant if DH and I wanted to go out on a Saturday night, I had to basically spend all week pumping to get enough to leave him for 2 bottles 🙁
Great article about it here: http://kellymom.com/bf/got-milk/supply-worries/breast-fullness/
