@MysticV:  If your wedding is in April this year, I don’t recommend that you order from Jasmine’s Bridal as it will take extremely long if you have revisions to make. For me, I ordered a dress in Jul 13 and have not received my dress to date.

I’m not sure you have time–You only have 8 weeks!

Can you find any of those dresses from a secondhand site like usedweddingdresses.com or wornonce.com or tradesy.com?

@MysticV:  Unfortunately I didn’t specify my date because it will be in May this year and I was so sure that I would get it way before my date. I actually required the dress for a shoot in December but the dress did not make it in time. Fortunately I had ordered another dress which was much simplier and didn’t require many revisions so I had that shipped out first and used that for the shoot.

If you don’t request for any revisions/photo service, you should be able to get it in time, but you stand the risk of not being able to correct any problems. My second dress that I am still waiting on had beadwork at the neckline and I found the beadwork to be asymmetrical which they are fixing now.

No experience with Milly so I can’t comment on that. Perhaps you can do a search in the forums and see what pops up.

ive never ordered from milly bridal, but i ordered a rehearsal gown from dressilyme, and 7 dresses (ceremony, reception, 4 bridesmaids and a flower girl) from jasmines. Between the two, dressilyme was a simple process, i exchanged a few emails and like 4 weeks later my dress arrived. Unfortunately the dress was not made well, and looked like a cheap craft project.

Dressilyme dress:

jasmines took a long time (i placed an order in july, and another one in october. Both were received around christmas). There was alot of clerical mistakes made during the process, and i was HEAVILY involved, but with my time and effort, and their willingness to include mein the process, i received 7 amazingly beautiful dresses That i am pleased with.

jasmines dresses (the flower girl dress was sent back at no cost to me to be revised, im still waiting for the revised dress to come back home, so this is before the revisions)

i would start emailing jasmines asap if youre even consiðering them. They just started their busy season, which last year went from february to like september! so get on it!

@MysticV:  i received photos of my ceremony gown and 1 bridesmaid dress. The flower girl dress, reception dress and other 3 bridesmaids dresses i didnt get any photos on. i was very pleased with all of the dresses. The flower girl dress was quite different from the inspiration photos i had sent, so after talking with them they agreed and take it back to fix it.

It is a risk, but as far as i know, the only dress they have sent out without photos that was way off from the inspiration was my flower girl dress, so its not a common occurence and they have thus far been willing to rectify the issues with me, so i cant complain.

@MysticV:  I got my dress from Jasmine’s this fall, and it took almost exactly 8 weeks, which was on the low end of their time estimate for the off season.  I think you are cutting it very close for any custom made dress from abroad – especially since it seems like shipping takes longer from China to the UK than to the US.  I would look for used dresses closer to you in case there are any delays at all.

@MysticV:  It’s just an observation from seeing brides in Europe wait weeks for dresses that only took days to get to the US.  You’re really cutting it close to get a custom made dress from China with only 2 months left.  Especially since you are looking at Mori Lee gowns, which aren’t crazy expensive, you might be better off getting a sample from a dress store.

@MysticV: You should consider Carabridal an etsy Seller. The owners name is Olive. She is fairly new, but her work is OUTSTANDING! A lot of the bees have placed orders with her already. You can search Carabridal on the bee and take a look at her quality. I plan on ordering from her as well.  Her prices are reasonable and from my understanding, the process is fast. One bee said she received her dress in 22 days. Olive answers all questions and is fast at responding to them. No harm in checking her out.
