Hi everyone! My wedding isn't until July 24th 2010, so I loved hearing everyone's details! I have been engaged one month now and we just found our reception site this past weekend after searching for a couple of weeks. So far the details I have are:
I will try to fill in more details as I figure ervything out in the months to come! I am curious if anyone went to any bridal shows in the area to get info. And what salon you are going to for hair and make-up? And which hair style did you decide on?
Hey, just thought I'd throw in my .02 on doing flowers inexpensively. We figured they'd just die in a few days anyway, so we didn't want to spend thousands on them.
When i got married, I used an online wholesaler for flowers. I got all my flowers for just a few hundred dollars, and they were fresh, gorgeous, and absolutely perfect. (But warning, it's not for the faint of heart. The flowers are delivered two days before the wedding!)
My girls helped me strip the leaves and bundle them the day before the wedding. The day of, we arranged and wrapped the bouquets. I'd probably choose to have the boutonnieres done professionally if I were to do it again (we did them ourselves) but otherwise it was a great experience!
We used www.flowersandfreshness.com. Loved them!
Hi all! I'm new to these boards. I live in the DC area but am getting married in Milwaukee this summer. My fiance's family is there. We're actually having a wedding of only 25 guests and no bridal party so some of my planning has been a little different than most brides. Here's my info!
We're actually looking for a fun place to take our friends for drinks after our dinner reception is over, something in the Third Ward perhaps so if anyone has any fun suggestions, let me know!
So just wanted to update some on my vendors... our photographer booked our date (so upset)... but let by gones be by gones and i found the most amazing guys out of Oshkosh called two guys and some cameras. I'm looking forward to meeting with them!
I am new to the boards, and don't have a lot of planning done yet, but am interested in hearing reviews/idea's from the area!
Date: 10/2/10
Ceremony: St. Matthias Church
Reception: Silver Spring Country Club
everything else is up in the air! Will update when I get closer.
Hi Milwaukee Brides! Our wedding isn't until October 2010, but we are chugging along with vendors. Here's what we have so far:
Date: 10/9/2010
Ceremony: Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist
Reception Venue: The Grain Exchange
Caterer: Bartolotta's
Photographer: Sarah Immel Photography
And we are thisclose to booking our DJ, too!
Hey, if you guys are looking for a great DJ, my cousin and I both used Eric Fischer of Milwaukee/Madison Sound and Light DJ for our weddings. They were amazing, and had great planning tools online so they could give us top-notch service. I'm a photographer and I see a lot of weddings, so they are definitely some of my favorite DJ's... they even have a great lighting system! Highly recommended....
Anyone have photos of weddings at the Elm Grove Women's club? I'm traveling to photograph a wedding there next month, and I'd like to have some idea what I'll have to work with. Thanks!
I had my wedding there on 4/16! There are a few pics on their website as well as a floorplan. Gorgeous chandelliers, pale walls, simple and elegant.
