Hi LadyGoodman! When are you heading to Boise? I grew up in Boise & there is so much to do there! Downtown is great for the bar scene because you can just walk everywhere & don't have to deal with ridiculous parking. Downtown also has lots of neat little shops and art galleries. The Boise Art Museum is on Capitol Blvd & is large enough to spent a few hours perusing. The Rose Garden and several large parks are near the Art Museum and the Boise River. You mentioned whitewater rafting, but it's also nice to just go tubing down the Boise River. You can rent tubes at the put-in at Barber Park (East of downtown) and can schedule a ride back to your car after you get out of the river at Ann Morrison Park.
If you are looking for a fun movie place, the Flicks & the Egyptian theaters are both awesome. The Flicks tends to show more indie films & they serve dinner, beer, & wine at the theater. The Egyptian was built after King Tut's Tomb was discovered & everyone was into everything Egyptian. It's the oldest theater in town & you can see where they used to play the organ before there were 'talkies'. Both theaters are on Capitol Blvd as well.
North of downtown, Camelsback Park is a fun place to walk around. If you want something with a little more wildlife, Hull's Gulch is right behind Camelsback & is a fun place to hike or bike on a warm day.
Beyond the items above, is there anything in particular you'd like info about?

Not really a mini-moon but a long weekend getaway. I am looking for recommendations of places to go, thing to see, adventures to be had . . . really everything and anything we can squeeze into a 3 days trip. We're planning on arriving Friday afternoon and sightseeing Friday and Saturday, going hiking or white water rafting on Sunday, and leaving on Monday.
I would appreciate any tips you guys can share!
