We are thinking of just doing a minimoon in SA & Fredicksburg after our N. Austin wedding. We just want the time to "get to know each other", save up for a bigger trip later...Also, our work schedules are already getting worse for the time near our wedding in Feb, so minimal travel time makes more sense.
Anywho, we don't want to spend crazy amounts, but we want some splurges, since we aren't spending a lot on travel. Anything romantic to check out? We will probably stay @ Chicken Paradise B&B Sun/Mon nights then Fredericksburg Tues/Wed nights if that helps.
Also, I don't want to make it TOO girly, so my techie boy might need some activities. (He's Retrosexual, hehe.)
<span style="font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif'">The Riverwalk in the evening is always romantic. The riverboat tour is also good. The Mission Trail is great if you like history or architecture. The Candle light Coffee House is a romantic place to eat (see special for Thursday night). SA also has a nice zoo surrounded by a beautiful park.
I second MissTeacup's suggestion of the River Walk in the evening and the Zoo in the day. The Japanese Tea Gardens, the Witte Museum, the Tower of Americas (and perhaps the restaurant at the top, if it's still there) are all also very fun.
Try August E's in town for a steak (or Navajo Grill). There's a wine place across from August E's where you can get a glass of wine and a cheese and olive platter, that was fun. There's a nice spa there too- the F-Berg Herb Farm Day spa.

My hubby's favorite part was ziplining outside of Austin: http://www.cypressvalleycanopytours.com/
We did rather expensive things in San Antonio, and of course it's not too hard to find fun stuff to do there because it's so big.
You're going to have a blast!
