SO, our wedding is mid November and since I just decided to go back to school in the fall that means out elaborate two week honeymoon we wanted will not work. We’re thinking of doing a four night “mini-moon” after the wedding–wedding on friday, fly out sat am and come back wednesday—and moving our resort reservations back to after finals. I’ll be doing evening school at that point, which are always twice a week for a block of time meaning I will miss a monday and a tuesday class and will try my darndest to make the wednesday class. I think I will be able to arrange this with my teachers early on so I don’t fall behind or anything.
Has anyone did a mini moon for school? How did it go? I’m not one to overload my plate but I don’t want to put off going back to school until next winter, especially if I get financial aid for fall, which we expect I will.

I have taken many “mini” trips. Not on my honeymoon, but some of those short trips are really sweet. With your location, I’d think San Francisco, Vancouver or Yosemite would be an easy trip. With a little research, all those places could be VERY romantic. SF especially!!! Ghiradelli chocolate factory, great restaurants, Golden Gate bridge, Muir Woods and the Presidio. Coit tower and those little Victorian houses on the swirly street… I love that place!

We decided to do a mini-moon. I will be in nursing school and I am the same way and since our wedding will be in Vegas we decided to just stay a few extra nights and go see some shows and enjoy the spa at the hotel and then maybe do something special during some sort of break or what not. I personally think its a great idea bc it is what fits our needs and it will be pretty inexpensive.

we are getting married in Florida and are planning a mini-moon just renting a car and traveling further down florida and staying somewhere- how cute to call it that–never thought of it. but we just can’t afford to take a long honeymoon right now. we are planning on taking our honeymoon on our first anniversary.

I’m a teacher, and since we are planning wedding in the middle of the school year, we’re also planning a mini-moon. We are from Massachusetts, so we were thinking of driving up north to a cute and cozy bed and breakfast in the mountains. Then, we’ll save up some more money and do it right over the summer.

FH and I are on different vacation schedules. His renews based on the fiscal calendar (July-June) and mine by the calendar year. He is the right hand man to the president/CEO of their very small company; I am a cog in a very short-staffed wheel. His boss will give him 2-3 extra weeks for the honeymoon; I have to scrimp and save vacation days to get that kind of time off, plus ensure that someone can cover my job.
Based on all of that, we will be taking a mini-moon Tuesday-Sunday after the wedding, somewhere warm with a nice Sandals-esque resort, and going on a fab adventure in the spring of 2011, when I will have more vacation days.

All those comments make me more excited for our mini-moon! It’ll be a nice romantic get-a-way! Just enough time to come down off the wedding high!
