Those are really cute! Great work, my first try would most likely have looked unidentifiable but those turned out great.
@ejs - those are awesome. I too am very impressed especially when you say you are new at piping... Can you make me a mini cake? :)
Great job!
Oh, so THIS is why you were looking for a good buttercream recipe.. they are AMAZING! Love them.
Those are so cute! What a great idea! Would you mind sharing the frosting recipe with us?
Those are so cute. My FSIL made us mini wedding cakes for our engagement party and they were great, but yours look much more professional!
Thanks! They still look a little 'homemade' but not sloppy at least =].
I have the Williams Sonoma piping set, but they don't make it anymore. It's like this, sort of: http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/wskids-cookie-and-cupcake-decorating-kit/?pkey=x|4|1||4|decorating%20kit||0&cm_src=SCH
And the buttercream recipe is over here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/bakery-buttercream
I do have a few super ugly "wtf is that" cakes, but i frosted them anyways and gave them to my coworkers =P.
mmmmm now I want cake.
Too bad it is too hot to bake :(
You did a great job!
These look great! I'm completely bent on having mini wedding cakes for all 160 of my weddings guests next summer. So far my first trial has been an utter disaster! Oh well at least I have plenty of time to experiment and get a cake if it doesn't work out...
Ejs - those are soooooo fricken adorable!
I love them!
oh wow! so glad i came across this. i just bought the chicago metallic mini wedding cake pan (with all three layers in one pan) and four mini cakes to the pan...is that what you used? i wanted to use fondant but i thought it would be too difficult since all the layers are already combined...but it looks like you used fondant and it worked...how did you do it!?
Very cute! You did a great job. What a huge undertaking.
oh and also...were you pleased with the buttercream? did you use it for the piping?
@Ms.Meowerson: Let me reply on ejs behalf... Yes she was pleased. :P I won't lie. It's the perfect buttercream recipe.
EJS! Those look super awesome! They don't look "homemade" at all.
@ejs4y8: Adore these! Good job!!! I love the idea of mini wedding cakes, too. So cute!
@recessionista- is it the right consistency for piping? i'm going to try it today!
Those are freaking awesome!!! You wanna do some for my wedding too!? LOL Your friend had to of loved them!!
@Ms.Meow: For piping, use less milk. The more milk you add, the fluffier & less stiff the icing will be. This recipe (with less milk) is perfect for making roses and borders.

I made these for my friend's mendhi party tomorrow--she's getting married Saturday!
I used a mini wedding cake pan i got off amazon.
Not too shabby for homemade. Thanks to RecessionistaBride for the frosting recipe =]
Anyways, super cute shower idea. It took awhile and I'm super new at piping, but still, they're not a food fail =D
