I didn't get married here and I'm not from here but we just moved to Minnesota for my husband's job (at least temporarily). We love it here so I'd definitely like to see who on the website is from Minnesota!
@KatieJean: I am not yet engaged but I'm from around the St. Cloud area. We will be planning our wedding around this area as well. I would love to liven up the MN boards some as well!
I am in the metro area and got married in my hometown in Southern MN.
@mandb122: What area does your husband work in? Are you enjoying being here so far?
I am from North of the Cities and we are getting married Ocotber 8! We are having our wedding in Tower, MN.
I met FI through friends. I introduced my best friend to a co-worker (at the time) of mine and 6 months later they were married! My FI was a good friend of said co-worker. For years that couple tried to get me and FI together, but timing was always off. FINALLY 3 1/2 years ago we started dating and the rest is history.

I'm in the north east metro, planning our wedding for August 2012 somewhere in the metro area. Still looking for venues...
I met my guy 11 years ago when we were 15. We were on a website and started to write long, personal emails to each other. 8 years later we met in person and the feelings were undeniable. Now we're in the same state and planning a wedding! (And that's the super short version

@MsBrooklynA: He's working in the nuclear field right now and he focuses on the power/electrical aspects. And yes, we actually really love it up here! They told us right now that we may only be here through January but he has the potential to pick where he goes next and there's another Minnesota location we're considering. There's also a large possibility we'll be here longer anyway.
@mandb122: I'm partial, but I love MN. I can't imagine living anywhere else, and I've been a lot of places. I'm so glad you like it here!

@MsBrooklynA: Tower is near Canada! It is North of Virgina, West of Ely and South of Canada - all by about 30 miles.
Our Bestman's parents own a resort on Lake Vermillion and they are letting us use the property for free!

I'm from St Paul and our ceremony will take place in Rosemount next October. We actually met through Craigslist personals 3 1/2 years ago and we got engaged in March of this year :-D

I live in Minneapolis with my fiance. We met our senior year of high school but were just friends for years (besides having a pretty flirtatious friendship & crushes on each other) - then about 4 years ago, we confessed our feelings for each other & started dating. The rest is history! ;)
We just got engaged 3 weeks ago, so we're still looking for the perfect venue (that fits within our budget)! Hoping for a September or early November 2012 wedding, though.

I'm in St. Paul! Our wedding will be in the Twin Cities this January.

Yay Awesome MN! How I miss home. Dont live in MN anymore, but had my wedding there last summer. Would not have had it any other way. St. Cloud area as well!
@Ms. Anemone: St Paul! Yay!! That's where I am! I also spent the beginning of my relationship with the FI as a LDR.
Yay for Minnesota Brides! My FH and I met at the Rock venue in Maplewood almost 2.5 years ago. He plays in the band around the Twin Cities area and we met through mutual friends. Ceremony venue is in our backyard of our house in south metro and reception venue will be in this area as well! Congrats to you ladies! Happy planning!
@MrsReidizzle: The Rock is about... a mile from my house! :) I've never been there before, but I know exactly where it is. It's such a small world!

Our ceremony is at Hennepin Ave United Methodist in MPLS across from the walker art center.
Reception is at The Great Hall in downtown St Paul near the excel, landmark center, ordway, jjhill & etc!

Earlier this fall I happened to be passing by as a bride & groom made their exit - we all stopped and watched and cheered. :P

I live in the south metro but had a destination wedding! It's so fun to see all of the great Twin Cities (and out-state!) landmarks in other Bees' weddings!

I am living in Winnipeg, Manitoba (canada), and moving there in the spring to be with my soon to be husband!!!
Its a very complicated process to move to the US from another country, alot of paper work, funds, and time... buts its all worth it!
Planning a wedding from over 500 miles away is a challange as well, but still enjoyable! :)

Hey everyone! Just joined wedding bee and it's already been super helpful to hear from other local brides. My future wife and I live together in Minneapolis and met at through a law school student group. It's been five years and now we are getting married on October 6, 2012 at Bruentrup Farm in Maplewood. I'm very excited but so far kind of overwhelmed with planning - we got engaged in late August and booked our date/place, and are just now getting started on the rest. Eek!

Yay Minnesota! We're having a DW in the Caribbean, followed by a home reception in Shoreview, MN. Yippee. Minnesota is the best....does it bother anyone else that we're not grouped under 'great lakes' but under 'other' on the local board?
Wow, the rock is about a mile from my house too! lol. I am from here, fiance is from California. We were planning on going to Vegas except he wanted the whole "production". So we're doing a small wedding here 12/29 and then flying out the next day to Vegas for New Years and re-newing our vows (-thanks Groupon!) New Years Eve with his family from California who'll be meeting us in vegas. I'm embarrassed to say where we met. but it was Myspace. We had an acquaintance as a "mutual friend" and he added me and to keep it going, "the rest is history"! lol
