Maybe this is a crazy idea, but here goes… would anyone be interested in joint purchasing and sharing a necklace? I fell in love with the Miriam Haskell Silver Cascading Garden necklace.
It is so beautiful… However, there is no way on this earth I can justify $1400 for bridal jewelery. I have searched everywhere for a place where I can rent it. No luck. So here is what I am wondering – if there are other brides who also want to wear this necklace, could we get together and pool our money and buy it together? My wedding is in late April 2014.
Fingers crossed someone else also loves this necklace…

Sorry, I can’t help you with the sharing…
I clicked on this thread because that’s a beautiful name for the necklace… I had to see it. I have to be frank, though, $1400 is an awful lot of money to pay for a necklace that is made with glass “pearls,” silver plate, and lead crystals. An awful lot, even if you plan to get a lot of use out of the necklace aside from the wedding.
I know you love this design, but I really believe you can find a better deal. I suggest you keep your mind open to other possibilities.

@joya_aspera: Yeah I was going to say the same thing.
It’s beautiful but I’m sure you can find something really similar if not identical if you shop around….check out some etsy vendors, or browse Macy’s/Sak’s/etc jewelry counters…I was at J Crew a couple months ago and they had similar styles. Also, Coach’s jewelry line – check them out as well; they do that same kind of look. Heck even something from Nordstrom’s or Bloomingdale’s would probably be cheaper than that!
Good luck and happy shopping 🙂

Thanks both for your suggestions – I have checked out these other designs/options but what I’m really hoping is that someone will also want this particular necklace.

@drg2129: Wow that is a stunning necklace but I have to agree with pp that is a lot for that necklace! Have you looked on ETSY? There are lots of statement necklaces for a fraction of what that one costs!

@drg2129: Yes, it’s a lot of money… Miriam Haskell is a famous brand and tends to be a collectors item. But if (for example) four of us want it, that’s $350 each. Which is less than I’d spend on a high-quality Etsy necklace. Plus, if we resell it afterward and share the profit, it ends up even less espensive – and around the same price I’d end up paying on Rent the Runway to rent something nice.
At least that’s my idea 🙂
