Miss MJ’s post on eating got me searching on something I originally heard about on CSI- berries that make bitter and sour things taste sweet. Has anyone tried these? I googled them and it seems pretty cool but I am a little wary of ordering fruit tablets on the internet…

Huh. I’ve never heard of these before. Is the internet the only place to get them? What about a place like GNC?

oohh i haven’t checked gnc, i was thinking of ordering fresh ones so they wouldn’t be random pills, but it is way more expensive.

a friend tried them… he did the tablet things. he said it was fun and interesting, but warned that acidic things will eventually give you a sore throat & upset stomach… you won’t be getting the taste cues that you’re eating too much acid, so you might not think to stop. so be aware of that if you try it.

This "Miracle Fruit" thing has been circling the food blog world for a bit… here’s some links that might be helpful…
These all have info about their experiences; the 1st also has info about how to acquire them:
Hope that helps!

There is a guy in Ft. Lauderdale who grows them commercially. You can find his contact information here. Smarty and I took a guided nature hike a few years ago and tried them then. It was interesting! I didn’t know they were sold in pill form, too.
