Hello! I’m a new bride and I’m having a REALLY tough time trying to coordinate dresses, shoes, and flowers. I’m going with black and blue, and the girl’s dresses will be black. My initial my idea was to have the bridesmaid all wear different styles and colors of shoes. There are 4 of them: Pink, yellow, fushia, and green, and I would wear blue shoes. Now I’m having a hard time visualizing how everything else would look. How would i do flowers, and centerpieces without using too much color? I wanted the tables to have black linens and lots of candles in jars and candle holders, with glass beads and some blue accents. Do you think the colored shoes would stand out too much at a winter wedding? Now I’m toying with having them all wear blue shoes, different shades and styles…
Any thoughts? Thanks! 🙂

Go to the davidsbridal website, to the “dress my wedding’ section and put a similar dress that your girls will be wearing (or just the right color) and put the different colored shoes on each… see if that helps you out 🙂

I think with black dresses, you could easily pull off mismatched shoes but if you do, I would have their bouquets all be the same.

I love the idea of having them wear different colors of shoes but I totally see your dilemma when you start thinking about all the other colors and how to make it all work. I do beleive it CAN be done — you know how some people put the oddest things together and it just ‘works’? I’m not one of those people… 🙂
I think maybe you should choose blue and have them each pick a different shade of blue, since you are leary about incorporating all those colors into your decor.
If you do decide to use the colors, I think go with all-white bouquets or else have all those colors in the bouquet.

I am in a wedding in September where we are wearing black dresses an all different colour shoes! I am really looking forward to it! Our flowers will all be mainly white with a hint of our shoe colour!
I say go for it!

I think if you have them wear different color shoes it will appear your colors are black and rainbow. (Not a bad thing at all, very cool I think, but it is not black and blue.) If you want just black and blue I think you should do black dresses and blue shoes of any style like you’re thinking to do.

I like the shades of blue….

I vote shades of blue.
I’m doing this for my wedding. The girls are picking their own grey dresses and their own yellow shoes. We’ll end up with 4 completely different looks and that’s awesome to me. 🙂

I love the idea of all different color shoes! What a great picture that will be! I think it’s unique and people are going to love it! I know it’s not the majority up there but i think it will be amazing.. at least from what i’m visualizing in my head :o)

You could ask your BMs what they prefer I guess. I like both ideas though!

my ladies have a bright blue dress, white bouquets, and I’m buying their shoes- part of their gift 🙂 I am getting each their own personality pumps- fun colors, patterns etc, something that is closed toe and heel, no straps, so basic silhouette is the same, but can be individual. Will look awesome and funky 🙂

This is what I am thinking of doing. All my girls have floor-length dresses so we won’t see their shoes unless they pull their dress up. I started the trend by wearing purple shoes in my fire-themed wedding. All my ladies are wearing different coloured dresses, but I just wanted them to have a fun, funky twist to show their own personality.
In short….. go for it!!!

I’m not sure about the pale colors in the winter. If you’re going to do mismatched, I’d stick with primary colors… MHO.
