    Has anyone used this site?

    https://www.missnowmrs.com/?gclid=CNe0zuPE_6wCFasaQgodBFV8UQ

It supposed to be a site that helps you change your last name to your new married name in "3 easy steps" for 29.95

If not, was it hard changing your last name? Did it take a long time?

I read some pretty mixed reviews. I just figured I'd save my money and make the changes myself.

I think that just gives you the forms and stuff, I mean, they can't go to the SS office or the DMV for you.  It took me one day to make the changes with social security and the dmv.  The other stuff (bank accounts, credit cards) I just kind of did when I felt like it.  Usually just requires faxing and showing up with your marriage license.

All they can do is fill out the forms for you.  You still have go everywhere yourself and make your own phone calls.  There aren't that many forms and they aren't hard to find, so I'd save my money.  I changed my name everywhere except on my passport in one month.  It's really not that bad, just a little time consuming.

I'll change my passport closer to when I plan on using it, since it requires a little more work to do and costs the full renewal fee.

I didn't use it but I think it's a waste.  The thing that takes the most time is the license and social security office just because you have to sit and wait, the rest of the stuff, you can usually call them or send them a copy of your new license to change your name.

like other posters have said, YOU have to physically go down to offices [dmv, ss occice] and get things done. i wouldn't waste my money on that, but the process is definitely stressful.

    good luck!

I got a gift card for the site from my FMIL. Would you use it if it was free?

i've changed my name everywhere except the social security office. it's just such a pain to wait in that line. so i'm waiting until the first of the year when i have my personal time at work again. it wasnt hard just took some time and i have a copy of our marriage certificate with me just in case.

hmmm.. what does that company do with your personal information? is there a chance it could somehow end up in the hands of solicitors?

I do not have experience with changing names (yet, I am hoping for a ring soon, though!) but I would say that website is a waste of time and money.  I mean, I know my sister had a lot of problems, but that's because her last name has changed like, 6 times through being a child of divorce, remarriage, remarriage, and then 2 of her own marriages so she's had trouble but that's a special case.

If it's your first time, I say just do it on your own - that way also you know that if any information gets messed up, it's not because it got lost on the internet or someone stole it online!
