I’ve also been told that if you pay it within 30 days it won’t affect your credit report ๐Ÿ™‚

Thats nice that it wont affect it but I can understand your frustration!!!  Just make sure that your APR does not go up because of the late payment though.  If it does, you can probably call and argue it.

You should ask them to waive the late fee.  It happens to me ocassionally and I ask them to waive the late fee and they do…no questions asked.  I think if they see you have a good history of making payments on time, but made one mistake, they will try to do something for you.  It doesn’t hurt to ask…

Maybe try writing in through the online customer service– I always seem to get late fees/weird charges refunded no questions asked when I go through there.

This year has really sucked with credit cards this year.  It’s so annoying.  Sorry about the missing payment – wedding plans getting in the way sucks.

Oh yeah, they’re definitely in the right by charging you, since it’s part of your card holder agreement blah blah blah… but then again, if you don’t ask, you don’t get!

In situations like this, I usually just ask a couple of times, until I get my way.

Argh, that sucks. I just missed TWO student loan payments on the same loan because my former landlord KEPT MY MAIL for over a month waiting for a convenient time to see me, rather than just saying, “Hey, I have mail, it’s from your student loan company”. And yes, she would recognize it because her daughter got her loans through the same organization. So pissed… not to mention the collections agency from hell that has been coming after me for no good reason this year. I’m sorry… I feel your pain, definitely. ๐Ÿ™

Definitely call again or write through customer service. You’d be surprised what happens when you don’t accept no!

You need to call and ask for a manager, they do waive fees all the time, I’ve had it done before, you need to be more agressive, they should remove your fee. What cc company are you with?
