Hi everyone! I’m a new bee, I lurked for a bit before I joined the Hive 🙂
I got married in 2010 and I love my wedding set. A few months ago while having my engagement ring cleaned, our jeweler told me and Darling Husband that he noticed a problem with my setting and that the head/prongs were not large enough for my diamond. He said that it was putting the stone at risk for fracture. I freaked out and Darling Husband decided that we would reset it.
Since we were already resetting it, Darling Husband decided that he wanted to get me a completely different setting as an anniversary present. I loved my plain band, but we both kind of knew it didn’t really go with my personality. Also, he wanted it to be really special and pick out the ring himself (my orginal setting was a replica of my mother’s.) I had to give up my engagement ring a few weeks ago and I miss it so much! I’m sure the new ring will be just as beautiful- and even more special since he’s picking the design by himself- but I’m having serious separation anxiety issues! I’ll be wearing only my wedding band until January. *sigh*
Has anyone else been separated from their e-ring for a couple months? How did you deal with it?
Here’s what my e-ring looked like (with my wedding band):

Oh my gosh, I can’t imagine being separated from it for that long! I’m so sorry! I thought I was gonna have a panic attack the day I had to drop mine off and leave it for three days. I don’t know if I could handle a couple of months. It must be really difficult to get used to not having it on your finger. Maybe you could get a cheap stand in ring to wear until you get it back?

Oh so pretty. I especially love love love your wedding band. Think of it as time to enjoy that gorgeous wedding ring all on it’s own 🙂 I got an upgrade and had horrible seperation anxiety for my old ring and also horrible guilt for wanting to wear the old one more after asking for the upgrade lol. Luckily my husband is verrry understanding and now I’m wearing my original one. I will never again be parted from it, it has more sentimental value to me than my wedding ring. Even when I was in hospital there getting my appendix out they taped it up for me instead of takign it off. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and it will be lovely for you to have a gorgeous new ring maybe with even more sentimental value if your Fiance is choosing it!

@HeatherMM: I have a gemstone ring that I tried wearing with the band once but it just didn’t feel the same. So for now, just the band.
@loopy_lou: Thanks! I really love my band 🙂 I keep trying to remember that it’s only a couple of months in the grand scheme of things. I also know how excited Darling Husband is to pick out the setting on his own and it’s adorable! That makes it a little easier 🙂
Thanks for the support Bees! I’ll post pictures of my new set when I get it in January. 🙂

It’s only been 2 weeks for me and feel naked. I hope I get mine back from the jeweler soon!
