Our wedding is a destination wedding for pretty much everyone but us.  Going with the "travel" theme we did our Save the Dates as cute postcards from where the wedding is being held.  Since then my mom has told me that several of her friends have not received Save the Dates (they were mailed about 3 weeks ago) and she is worried that they are getting stuck in catalogues, etc. and are accidentally getting thrown out.  I can see her point, because who knows how much mail I throw out by just tossing those circulars that come every day without looking through them.

If more guests were local I wouldn't worry as much because they will still get the invite in plenty of time to plan to come.  However, with SO many people needing to travel very far, they really need as much notice as possible.  My FI thinks this is totally unnecessary for me to be stressing about, but I can't help but want to email everyone and make sure they got the card and have the travel details!

Am I being crazy? Should I not worry about it?

    Ack.  Help.

Maybe you could send the invitations a few weeks early?  Do you have a website that your mom can just direct them to?

OMG, this totally happened to us too.  Where do you live?  Maybe you are mailing from the same delinquent post office as we are.  I finally just sent a nice email to all of our guests with an image of our save-the-date attached.  I started by saying something along the lines of "Dear Family and Friends, We are happy to hear that many of you have received our save-the-date announcements in the mail, but we are sad to hear that some of you have not..."

I'm glad we sent out the email, b/c we found out that additional guests who we don't talk to regularly had also not received their STDs.  Now everyone at least knows about the wedding and has a link to our wedding website.  Btw, the missing STDs have never resurfaced, and it's been 2 months.
