Long story short, I’m the same, I had to get rid of my dog due to a neighbor causing problems about it being a pit Mix. I felt guilty getting a new dog even though the one I had to get rid of now has a great life on a farm where she can run and has a very loving family. After my new dog became one of the family and we all adjusted to having him it wasn’t bad. I know in a way I replaced her but she’s happy and I rescued my new dog from a kill shelter so it worked out for the best for all of us.

it took a while to accept it, I still think about her and this was like 3 years ago when I relocated her. Seeing how happy my new rescue is though and knowing he could have been euthanized without me stepping in makes it easier to accept and so does her happiness. The family that adopted my old dog lost their American bulldog pit mix a month before and were desperately looking for a new one to save 🙂

Haha, my poor FI is like this. Did you parents guilt you into eating your veggies by saying that they were lonely without their other food friends?

Anyway, I would like to reassure you that you should NOT feel guilty. Are you rescuing a kitty from a shelter? Just think how lucky that kitty will be to have a new, loving home! There is enough love to go around for all of these kittens, I promise!

And post pictures when you get him/her!

@Haruyou:  Hahaha, poor thing! Just like my FI. I’m trying to teach him that it’s okay to want new things. Mostly I just buy him stuff, haha.

Can’t wait to see your new family member!

Post some pics when you have you new addition, naming is hard without knowing the personality and also what they look like. I have 3 dogs now, mushy, Bella, and brantley 🙂

I haven’t left home yet, but when I do I will be leaving my dogs at my parents. Not that they’re only MY dogs… But I know I will still miss them! 🙁 On the other hand, I think any time you can help an animal in need is good. And it doesn’t mean you will forget about your other cat, it just means you’ll have cats in 2 places!
