Hi fellow bees! I am having a traditional wedding. I love the idea of getting a picture together of all my somethings: something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.
Here’s my delemma:
1st, does renting count as borrowed? I was planning on renting my earrings.
2nd, I don’t have anything old! I was suposed to receive a ring when my grandmother passed away, but my sister I traveled to the funeral with did not want to stay to eat after the funeral- where my gradfater had said he would give each of us four granddaughter’s a ring from her. So my sister who did go, lets just say she’s not trustworthy, was suposed to hold them for us, and needless to say, we never received them.
My mother passed away when I was four, and I barely have any pictures, let alone anything to wear.
My other grandmother passed when I was ten, whom I did not have a relationship with at the time due to being put in the middle of her and my step-mother’s fights. I finally got to where I did not want to go the grandma’s house to be grilled, told I was lying and covering up for the other one (which I was) by both, so I got this twice. So I stopped going.
Fi’s mom wanted to help with the “somethings” until I told her I had everyting except something old. I do have an aunt I could ask, but I’m not close to her either.
Any ideas on what I can use for something “old”? Maybe I should go shop at an antique shop? I guess it’s not that big of a deal, and I don’t have to have it. But any suggestions would be nice. I’ve accomodated other people’s wishes so much throughout this process, that I would really like this for myself.
