I had my shower last weekend and I finally got around to unpacking the boxes. It came to the dishes( i recieved two sets) and I found that a cup and a bowl were chipped. Frustrating but not the end of the world. Then I realized that one of the plates was missing!
I called the place that they were purchased at and left a message, but I’m super annoyed.

You have done all you can do.
Be thankful for the other pieces and the gifts you got– if the damaged/missing pieces cannot be replaced.
My daughter received a crock pot from a couple of ladies we know at her tea.
Apparently they regifted a USED and DIRTY and BROKEN crock pot.
The box had been taped with duct tape (I can’t make this mess up!).
We realized it when we got all of her gifts home and started sorting through them.
No way to return the gift.
She wrote the thank you note just as graciously as she would have otherwise and never mentioned it to the ladies.
All we can figure is that one sister said oh, so and so’s tea is today–we need to get a gift. the other lady says, oh i have something (maybe even not realizing it was in the condition that it was), probably something she thought was unused from her son’s shower, and wrapped it and brought it to the tea. We still shake our heads over it to this day and laugh about it.

I don’t know from where the gifts are, but I had that happen (the broken/chipped part) to some stuff from BB&B, and since I had a gift receipt (actually, I can’t remember if it was that or just that it had been on my registry,) I was able to take it back to the store, no problem.
