@HeartsandSparkles:  I’ve been looking for the same color, and the best I’ve found is “majestic” from Dessy/Alfred Sung. This picture shows the color and a few examples, but there are lots more styles on their website.

@HeartsandSparkles:  This is what I used for mine…. the dress they had was actually the second one from the right… the one shoulder lol…. they were awesome… I had the exact same colour scheme you did and it was so hard to find the “Colour” I found this one by dessy (majestic) and davids bridal “regency” was the closest I could find (they didnt have canadian stores at the time we ordered but now they do), it still wasnt exactly what I wanted but like I said the closest thing!

I dont have my pics back yet but the only one I can show you is a preview…they look a bit dark in this pic keep in mind…..could just be my comp screen lolI will upload another funny one….. they were shiny because of the material so it depended on lighting.

hahahahhahahahahahahhahaha

@djenah79:  I’m interested! Once they come in, do you mind updating with the color and quality of the dresses? Thanks!

@HeartsandSparkles:  haha thanks. Ya the second pic I think has a warm light shining on it so its hard to see what it looks like in real life lol, but most store carry dessy dresses and should have at least one in majestic! I actually found my “shoes” at davids bridal…and had them dyed in the regency colour!!!

I did Peau de soie ….it was a very light material and it had a nice shine to it that kinda made the colour more….rich??? know what I mean?

Dupioni was thicker and not bad but the material was more “matte”/or flat and the shine just gave it a more jewel toned colour….but the one they had in the store wasnt majestic it was a blue colour, but you could tell how it would look… peau de soie was more “vivid”.

The dresses were between (I say that cause all my maids were from all over canada) 170-190 which included tax so they werent CRAZY expensive….considering what a lot of dresses are. They were some of the cheapest we found that we actually liked. Davids does have a lot of dresses for decently cheap, so check out regency as well.

@HeartsandSparkles:  I’m having the same issue. I have this idea of “purple” in my head that no one seems to cater to. I want a “true” purple, not eggplant, wine, lavendar, etc. Ugh.

@HeartsandSparkles:  The Dessy/Alfred Sung dresses should be a little less expensive on a site like WeddingtonWay or RKBridal, you can check those out to try to keep your cost down. WeddingtonWay also lets you sort by color.

@djenah79:  count me in as another interested bee! I actually looked at these the other day (although I’m interested in the shorter length), but I can’t quite tell if the color is just right or not. Keep us posted on the color/fabric!
